Frankensteining a MilSpec Specwar-A?

Hi. I have a 1999 MilSpec Specwar-A clip point with the green-Ti coating and these massively thick liners (which I imagine is the reason why Commanders from the 1998-1999 model year are in such demand......). Anyway, there are some scratches in the coating on the non-logo side of the blade (seemingly the result of a slip or two on a sharpener). I was under the impression that all the MilSpec models were pretty rare. Do these scratches TOTALLY destroy the value of the knife? If so, would it be possible or advisable to acquire an SOCFK and "transplant" the waved blade into the MilSpec handle? Thank you.

The "Mil-Spec" series is a little know issue.

The value issue all comes down to how much you treasure the knife and more importantly, how much someone else covets it.

While Specwars are great knives, they don't have much of an aftermarket following. The Commander and the SOCFK on the otherhand seem to have taken on a life of their own.

I'd say put the Specwar away (or up for sale, your choice) and carry the SOCFK.
