I'm not sure if this is in the right place, if it isn't please move it and accept my apologies.

On my last sale thread I stated that there would be a drawing for those who purchased a set of scales or block from me. Since there were not many entries via purchase, the decision was made to go another route.

If anyone can guess the species from which this block of wood hails, you will win this block free of charge. The contest will go until one of you gets it right. Thanks and enjoy!

Alright Gents, we have a winner!

Southern_woodworker got with Sweet Gum (the block is spalted sweet gum) at 1808 CST yesterday.

There were a few others who guess right but a half hour or so after, as a consolation price, I offer anyone who guessed sweet gum before this post $10.00 off any blocks or scales in my future sale threads. Thank you for playing and keep an eye out for more Giveaways!
