All three of these are beautiful pieces, but for me, Knife C just struck me. The modified clip point gives the blade the belly to do some severe damage while the convex top edge looks and probably functions extremely well. I think for this sort of speciality design, a steel like ATS-34 would do just fine...after all, if you're concerned about edge holding in a dedicated fighter, you have inflicted a good deal more violence than necessary to disable an attacker.
As far as what I would change...hmm...since it IS a fighter, I would maintain the sharpened back edge. I think it might be worthwhile to cover more of the tang with scale material...as to assure a more secure grip.
Robert, beautiful knives.

Gawwwwwd, I just hate it when my posts "go away"...

So, one more time... The double edged "pure" fighter is the way to go! "Easy in, easy out", sez I...

O1 is sweet, but ATS with Linen Micarta? Much sweeter!

Thanks Robert, nice give away there buddy!

That modified clip point is my favorite of the designs shown. I like clip points on fighters. My next favorite would be the spear point. I also like a traditional tanto, but not the modified one.

BTW, my choice is A.

Edited to make my choice of design more clear.

I voted for "C", great design.

I was torn between the "B" and the "C". The "B" is one damn sexy knife, but the "C" looks more the "Work Horse" and Fighter of the two.

The third one does it for me. I like the overall blade shape and length. The only that I would do is to bring the end of the handle down a bit. Nice work.

I like the blade and exposed butt of C, but with the handle off of A, the double edge blade just screams fighter to me though. I would look at D2 for steel. You may want to look into a rougher handle material, like bead blasted canvas micarta, to add grip. Not sure how the texture of your linen micarta is.

I'll take the clip point, but I want a sharpened clip. Not a full double edge, but a sharpened clip for back cutting. And I want a handle like B but with a bit more curve. I am taking a liking to handles that work well for natural grip as well as an edge in reverse grip. Single Finger Grips (like A) get in the way of edge in gripping.

I like these new designs you made, and I have seen the pics you did of the blades penetrating metal. I will be honored to win the contest and get a custom fighter! :D

Just for the halibut, I'm submitting my own idea (D) :)
Since I still haven't learned the picture posting thing, I guess I'll e-mail it to you.
I do like the pseudosubhilt though ;) That would be the handle of c with the blade of a....kinda like ordering chinese food!

And thanx for being so generous!

Two functional cutting edges and plenty of belly too. What more can we ask for. It looks great.

I'm a sucker for tantos, so my choice is B. I like the simplicity of the tanto blade as well as its ability to poke (love the pic. of the tanto through the sheet metal). However, I think a slightly more ergonomic handle would make it more appealing.

Plenty of belly, exposed pommel and great design.

I would love to get it in O1 - but one can't ask for everything in life...

10x for the great thread.

Knife C is probably the best design for a fighter, but knife A really does it for me.

I know it has nothing to do with performance, but the less pins in the handle the better looking I think the knife is, IMHO.

Anyone else reading all of these might like to know the is a Hankins knife on Ebay for auction.

Dale.
