Knife "A" all the way. It looks like it could fill the bill for a "fighter" and a utility knife. Having a knife that fills both needs is what I am looking for in a "fighter". The liklihood that it'll actually be used in the fighter mode is much smaller than for the utility role.

Knife A. I like 01 toolsteel better than ATS-34, and the blade shape would more appropriately to what I would most likely use the knife for.

I hope I never have to use a knife for defense. I hope I never have to use any weapon for defense, but if I have my druthers, it's going to be my favorite auto, My 1911 Series 70.

Knife A. Love that 01 steel. The blade shape also appeals more to me.

However, I do like pins in the grip of the other knife.

Blade "C" for me too. First, I like double edged knives for fighters but they also have their uses among utilities, provided the sharp edge ends far enough forward. In a pinch, a block of wood or something similar can be used to block the top edge if leverage is needed. Second, i like the overall line. In this regard it was fairly close with Blade "A". but the more severe sweep of the blade is very attractive. Third, I like the scales, and the pins are a very nice detail as well. Fourth, although it's hard to tell from the pictures, the "skullcrusher" or exposed tang seems to be somewhat more prominent and useful on this one. Finally, the ATS 34 does have the benefit of being "stainless", but to me this steel is actually a negative factor because I don't think it can really compare in terms of performance to O1, D2, not to mention A2, CPM 3V or even BG 42 if stainless were preferred. Still, it looks like a helluva knife :)

My vote is for C, though I'd change a few things.

I'd put a butt end similar to the one on the tanto to aid in retention. I'd also slim out the handle slabs for both comfort and concealability, more a then b.

I have never, ever been in a knife fight, and save for olympic and historical fencing, don't ever plan on it. Still, from my unility type tasks, I think a mild sweep with a decen t point are good things. Allows for some slaching/belly of blade cuts, gives the front a larger sweet spot for chop motions, and puts the point in line with yopur arm for accurate thrusting.

Tanto's alsways seemed like think front ends that felt like thick front ends to me, and no belly is no good. While I like straight line knives like a, I don't think they lend them selves to ergonomic movement like swept blades.

I'm not sure whya the furrel is for, maybe weight savings? If you loose a little girth in the handle and cover the rib hurting if you fall on it tang section of the handle with a hooked, hand retaining end, I'd say you would have a winner ;)

Knife A. It looks real comfortable to use and the edge profile would be most versatile. It has classic and clean lines. I would prefer mine in carbon steel with rosewood handles.;)

I like "C"....love a double edge on a fighter, love the modified clip point and full belly, love the sub-hilt and full tang. Also would prefer the O1 steel though.

Nice designs all! :D

They are all good, well I don't like tanto's so B is out for me!

I would have an 8" double edged spearpoint with Micarta scales and either CPM 3V or 01 tool steel for the blade. A small guard and full exposed tang with a skull crushing point. The knife would have a convex edge and be razor sharp.

If stainless steel was required, I would go with either BG-42 or Sandvick powdered Damasteel!:D

IMHO a proper fighting knife NEEDS two edges. After training with a 6th Dan Karate master, I am convinced a double edged knife is the way to go.

0-1, clip with a really nice belly, sub hilt and pommel

what is not to like?

"A" is the one I'd chose.

Thanks

chris

I want the blade on knife "B" with the ATS-34 steel with a 7 1/2" blade, with about a 3/4" guard slightly curving around my index finger. I like the ATS-34 steel, because it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. The guard would look good, and guard my index finger, which is a plus for me. I want the handle from knife "C" which looks comfortable, and is beautiful, but has a lanyard hole and skull crushing pommel. I would also like the back of the tang to be worked, because of beauty and to keep your thumb from slipping. I think a combo brown leather sheath, and kydex/concealex sheath would be great too.

These are damn beautiful knives you have here.

Thanks for the chance,

I like the C design since it provides a lot of slicing balde plus a sturdy point.
