Free handle material....For testing?.....

Daniel, Daniel, Nate and Sam...The handle material is in the mail.....Good luck with it........carl

Here it is! I found the material relatively easy to work and it looks great. It gives a bit, is grippy and feels great in the hand.

Thanks Combs6136!

That definitely looks cool, I cant remember what that stuff is called but it looks very very familiar. Just not sure from where.

The colored flecks give an interesting look. Would also be good on a tactical knife.

Seems most tactical/fighting knives have micarta or g-10. I remember a large gerber fighter in the 90's with a neoprene type scales.

One tip, use a drill bit meant for plastic. I used a Burrout Bradpoint bit with cutting edges on the outside, it cut this material cleaner than a regular bit.

Epoxy works well with materials like this. I did an experiment with epoxy, superglue, rubberized superglue, barge cement and I think Gorilla Glue, the epoxy was superior. I use G-Flex by West System.

I have some stall mat from TSC, it is different than this material. I'm not saying this isn't stall mat though, it was just different than the kind I have.

Thanks again Carl, I really appreciate it!

Dan, Thanks for the update......I make a lot of knives for deer hunters and they really like it.......No problem with it so far.......I really like it for a hard use knife...........carl

Looks like the material that they use on some of the new playgrounds, and also sometimes under turf. Cool beans, would like to see more.

It is neat stuff but I guess it is a secret as to what it is??

I have wondered about gym matts, but when I looked at them up close I saw that they were kinda porous. wouldnt that be a problem?
