I would have loved to have been able to have purchased a PE manix ( or mini of course) while still available at the places I typically buy from, when I had money. Mostly it was not having money.

On the other hand I'd still modify the manix into "the mastiff" by replacing the S30V blade with a vascowear one RC'd at 61-62. Better toughness and shock resistance, lots more wear resistance, but , unfortunately, less corrosion resistance.

Unfortunately nothing is perfect but "the mastiff" would be one tough knife. Even tougher than the Parent Manix that fathered it. Joe

Having just gotten into this forum and into this hobby (that of owning quality knives) I would like to own a few high-quality knives from different manufacturers, you know, so one can have some choice in their life. :)
 
My choice is:
Boker Hunter Knife, Stag Handle, BK-120585HH. The 4 5/8in. Long drop point, hollow ground blade of hot-drop forged 440C stainless steel and the handle with integral cross-guard and pommel complement each other excellently forming one solid knife for a variety of applications. Handles are made of genuine stag, riveted for strength. Overall length: 9.5". Includes snapped sheath of light brown British saddle leather.
 
The knife of my dreams is a Benchmade Osborne Rift. A 3.67 inch black combo-edge blade made with 154CM steel. Black/grey layered G-10 and a Pocket clip. The knife is 8.27 inches overall.

I love the Severtech "The Spartan" knife, maybe decause I loved the film. But the knife is gorgeous anyway.

I would love to have a Kershaw ET Urban Camo 1900UCBLK It has a 13C26 Sandvic stainless steel black coated tungsten DLC blade which is 3.25 inches long. It has an aluminum handle with a very unique opening/closing system by Grant and Galvin Hawk. It would be a show off Piece as well as a great user!
