What do you say when A custom knifemaker asks you if you want his Wilton square wheel grinder? You say hell yes! What if he says you can have his car? Plane tickets for you and your friend to fly to Baton Rouge all on his dime? Well thats exactly how the conversation went between myself and Shiva Ki went this past weekend. He has offered to fly myself and a fellow Sgt. to his home and send us back in his high speed-low drag extremely well maintained Ford Escort with new tires. Of course this is true to form for Shiva, he has helped me and many others get started in knifemaking or anything else for that matter. I cant wait to get down there and see my fellow Devil Dog, Ram who is Mr. Ki's son. He just finished law enforcement training for the state of LA. However we my take him back to Camp LeJeune with us.
I just wanted to tell you guys once again of the generosity of this kind, old, asskicking,tigerstrip wearing, no bullshit, Mother----

If this was someone who is not known for doing these types of generous things,, I would say the person was contemplating or planning Suicide!

Keith Mongomery ragged my ass mercilessly for a year, then found
out he was full of dung, and then wanted to buy one of my knives. My
response was not just no, but that I hoped he never acquired one of
my knives. Keith has shown a sincere change of heart over the past
couple of years so I also have had a change of heart, and I have
forgiven his misinformed rants.
Glad you guys are taking enough leave that we can put a new roof
on my outdoor knife shop and still have enough time for you two to go
to the range. Ram has oiled up his Drogonov sniper rifle and his
Thompson with 50 round drum magazine and is looking forward to
blowing some shit up when you are here. And we will still have time
to go back to New Orleans, show your buddy the French quarter
and the French market. And if we get lucky another carload of thugs
just might try screwing with us again and we can send them packing
with their tails between their legs. I so love a good battle.
A master of martial arts becomes a healer, as I have, but I
do so love a good battle. I haven`t kicked anyones ass since I
knocked my neigbor through his dad`s front door for roughing up his 75
year old father, and pounded his face into his dad`s hardwood floor.
Man that felt good. Felt better than knocking out Riddick Bowes
former sparring partner in the national toughman.
So, Ram and I are excited about your visit. I`m going to give
your fellow marine a Ranger stealth kill to carry into battle.
That will make 85 combat knives I`ve given away to special operations
soldiers over the past three years, in Iraq and Afganistan. Got to
support the bad boys putting their lives on the line for all of us,
even those idiots who post stupid crap on blade forums. A bunch of
keyboard warriors.

Though I have certainly changed my opinion of Shiva Ki, at no time after we had our run in did I contact him about the purchase of a knife. I did however contact him to apologize. I also commented on how much I liked his knives (my problem was never with the quality of his knives), and that even though I was sure he wouldn't want to sell me one, I would even possibly like to get one in the future. However, I have not to this point (and possibly never will), made any attempt to purchase one of his knives.

I will also state that though my opinion of him has changed, I still think he was wrong in the things that he did on this forum. My apologies have been for overreacting to what he did, not in coming to some kind of realization that he did nothing wrong. I did not then, nor have I since come to a realization that I "was full of dung". Shiva Ki should get his facts straight instead of emailing people misinformation.

Lifer, Shiva does not read this forum anymore, I told him that you apolgized for things, and I dont know if he got you confused with someone else or what ,but I told him you had turned out to be a good guy, and he said that has had a change of heart about you as well, Feel free to drop him a line. I never inteended to start anything unpleasant. Chance
 
Just when people were starting to say nice things about him, Shiva Ki comes back (via Last Chance's quote) and manages to say exactly the right things to blow it all. He could use a good editor.
 
I don`t know what has gone on in the past . But after reading the posts from Last Chance i think Shiva Ki is a decent fella in my books . Don`t know too many people that are this generous .

He does appear to be very generous towards those serving the country. He also has some other attributes that led to him being banned from the forums. It should be easy to search "Shiva" and by all means draw your own conclusions.

Yeah i`ve been doing a bit of that this morning , i even emailed him before and he reinforced my first thoughts . That he appears to me to be a decent fella , everyone has their quirks and not everyone is liked by everyone .

He asked if i would post this for him

For someone to offer that of themselves and to call themselves the asses mouth well means they know they made mistakes and would like to settle their differences .

I will add i am in no way connected or friends with Shiva Ki this is just my personal opinion which everyone is entitled to . Do with it what you like . :thumbup:
 
I won`t toss fuel to this fire, so i`ll try to keep this as straight as possible.

I surfed through Shiva's website, quite simple really, as it`s only one page.
He seems to make quite good knives, although i doubt i`d pay that much for a piece of steel, whatever the alloy it might be made from.
But the fact that people buys his knives, at the price he`s asking, i guess speaks for the quality.

Also, by the looks of some of the pictures on his site, he seems to be rather... Eccentric.
Now, i don`t know what happened in the past on here, nor do i care to go look.

All i know, from having problems with a knifedealer who`s thread is also on the GB&U, that people are humans. And humans are never perfect, however perfect they like to view themselves as.
The truth is that we`re all flawed in one way or another, so let`s just get a drink, and enjoy our flaws together. CHEERS! *clunk* :cool:
 
Far what I can make out, Shiva Ki is a very decent human being that doesn't communicate in a way that goes over well on public forums.
 
my opinion of shiva has sure changed thru the last yr or so, i still think he talks to much BS but what the heck so do I, he does seem to be very supportive of the troops which is always a good thing, & he does seem to make a good blade from what i've seen/heard, all in all not a bad guy at all imho.
 
I'm still afraid to voice my honest opinion of the guy, for fear of having someone sneak up behind me one day and give me the mystical vibrating palm of death! :p :D
 
Hey, Guys. You all have hit the nail on the head! Shiva does not go over well the net. However, every since the first day I called him he has been straightforward about everything with me. Sometimes its gruff ,but it is the truth. Ill tell you, you dont become this guys apprentice without having thick skin thats for sure. By the way, I got that $300 check to pay for me and my buddy to come down. to pck up my car and grinder.
