Free Marketing Tip

One thing I have noticed around here with my clients want function over beauty. This being said rubber is hugely popular for handle material around water and blood. People around here are not rich and when thy buy a knife thy want a good quality tool. So my tip is remember Obove all else we make knives and knives are tools.

Yeah that would be GREAT if the site reviews didn't suck. I personally would't take my chances with a 90% :thumbdn: rating.

Okay? Site reviews? The seller has a 4.8 out of 5 score. If you're talking about the product review, there is one (1) review. I wouldn't call that a solid statistical basis for decision.

Nevermind, what about this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/6pc...th-Holster-Special-for-DIY-W/32218228725.html

I've bought several of these, no problems at all.

If you can vouch for the seller then it would be something I'd look into. Personally I don't know anyone who has bought from the site and I know nothing about it other than I always see aliexpress in search result and it's in China. My experience in that situation I make a judgment call off of site reviews weather or not I take a risk. I've had good and bad experiences, I just took a $100 hit on ebay just 2 month ago.

Tek Loks are very versatile however the integrated loops shown in this thread look much slimmer. If I'd have the choice I'd go with them.

most of my knife sales goto hunter/farmers in the Georgia area.
they just keep buying.

here's another marketing tip. meet up with a sportsman's club and do a 45 minute presentation on handmade knives or whatever.
I sold two that day after my presentation

Ah, now I understand what you meant. AliExpress is part of Alibaba Group, the worlds largest retailer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alibaba_Group).

Yep.

I'm donating a couple to the next gun club raffle.

my tip I guess in this theme is; join the military... I could easily never make another hunter again or do any advertising whatsoever and seemingly never run out of potential clients. always someone looking for one

$2 with free shipping ?

I'd take that gamble to try it out.

I don't even consider it a gamble. I've had hundreds of packages sent to me from AliExpress/China. Never had any problems.

Protip: Buy the stuff with their app, it always gives you another 5-20% Mobile only discount. Right now, in the app it's $1.70 with shipping for the Teklok. With additional 3% discount when buying more than 5 pieces.

Just to clarify, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I just want to help you guys to save some money.

Just ordered a couple! I've got the kydex and the foam. I'll use it on my first kydex sheath. Going to use the vertical wood vice with the aluminum quench plates set up I have for stainless HT for the press.

Marc, your PM box is full. I'm looking to see if you ever tried out these clips. If so, how are they?

Kevin haven't used one on an actual sheath yet. I haven't finished anything to make a sheath for since I got them in the mail. I can't see where they'd be any difference than any other supplier, they seem to be of good quality. I'd be more than happy to send you one if you want.

If you are familiar with the name brand tek lok and don't see any real difference, that's pretty much what i was wondering.

Men, if you are making stuff of any kind, you should go to McMaster Carr and buy some boxes of whatever type screws you use, I have boxes of 100 of 4x40, 6x32, 8x32, 10x24, 1/4x20 and several others in lots of different lengths. I hate not having an appropriate screw when I need em, and like having several options of various types around--they actually sell boxed assortment selections if you want to go that route.

Thanks Fish. I don't often have a need for multiples of items to justify an order from McMaster Carr. I have gotten the screws I need in a larger knife order from USAknifemaker in the past.
