Can’t believe nobody else has done this yet. Here are some comparison shots between these two ‘Kin short swords. They are pretty similar, yet very different.

First, a few specs, as measured by me:

Free Rein:
21.34oz (605g)
0.214” thick (5.4mm)
16 3/32” long (408.8mm)
Stonewashed finish

TNT-15:
22.86oz (648 g)
0.247” thick (6.3mm)
15 1/8” long (384.2mm)
Competition Finish

When held with the handles on the same plane, I measure the height difference in the tips at just a hair under 1” different. The Free Rein has a good bit more sweep to the blade.

For these pictures, I put the handles as close to parallel as humanly possible (I used a 2x4 to space them). Anything that looks like they’re not parallel is camera perspective making it look off. Hopefully this helps some folks understand the differences between these two.

Sweet! Does the FR feel faster in the hand or about the same?
Thanks 🍺

A couple more that I can’t seem to attach to the first post. This is laid on top of one another, handles lined up exactly over the top of one another allowing the tip of the TNT to lay directly upon the Free Rein.

Have TNT so did not spring for the FR, but ooh that sexy curve . . .
Had the tnt.
it wasn't for me.
The chunky "grind angles" just weren't made for using.

I hope the OP uses them both for an honest review/comparison.
the New one looks to be an improvement. Maybe better at chopping.

Nice thanks for the pics.

HUGE BURR on the Free Rain edge.

On a second look, it might just be the camera and lighting playing tricks. Cuz the tnt seems to have the same thing in certain pics.

I decided to be a grown-up / tight-wad [delete as appropriate] when these first came out, and didn't order. But given that they did exactly what I'd asked (thinner stock, fuller, better steel), it seemed churlish not to get one. So, I've just ordered. A lower price would've eased the process.
