I saw a thread not too long ago regarding a person representing himself as a survival instructor for the Belgian Army. He is reqqueting a free sample for evaluation. Well he is back, here is a copy of the email.

"Hello,

I’m a Belgian instructor in survival, small arms combat techniques and tactics. I give a lot of lessons to military people and I evaluate a lot of survival gear.

My question is: Is it possible to send me an evaluation sample, I like the fixed hunter the most.

I want to evaluate it during my survival courses, now we are using another item in the course(and we want to replace it possible by yours).

This is also a good advertisement for your company, when I evaluate it with my crew. I can send you feedback if you want. Looking forward hearing from you.

Kind regards,

I do not know if this is real or not but any unknown requesting a free sample needs to be avoided. Just wanted to let the forums know he was still phishing for freebees.

Thanks for the heads up Chuck.

BTW I still love that Bowie you donated for the Scott Taylor Scolarship fund and feel very lucky to have been able to add your knife to my collection.

Take care,

hello all,

I'm the guy you are talking about. It is correct that I'm a soldier. It's not correct that I am a hard core band member. I want to appoligise to all regarding the mail that was send towards them.I don't know what gone wrong , but it has been already several times , I heard that mails were send from my e-mail address. I stop using that e-mail address now. Hopefully you won't get any e-mails also.

Regards,
Filip

Lemmenz,

It is good that you have posted here. Apparently you have not sent these emails. I do have a question, is your address coorect in the email? I could see someone posing as you and attempting obtain goods in your name. It happens in the states all the time. Thank you for helping us clear this up.

Chuck

dear Chuck,

Yes the address is correct.I've send a e-mail towards the moderator to delete my personal information in this topic. I deleted my old e-mail-address, now I have a new one. Hopefully everybody will be spared from abuse.

The question a maker should ask is how could this benefit me?

There are plenty of US Magazine writers who would actually use and evaluate your knife in a professional manner and maybe even put it in a magazine.

Where is your "freebie" better spent?
