The variables seemed to be so many, but your aim is to find most optimum edge geometry for each steel & HRC. Still many runs is needed, but the consistency requirement might just go simpler

IT is a necessary pain for keeping my clients. Server is running with 2 VMs, now waiting for 2 new SSD+HD to arrive. Knives keep me from going insane

Yep '..many runs is needed'! First, I will try 0.1+0.05+1 runs due to limited supply of fresh/green palm frond. After that, I could ask tree trimmer for a load of palm fronds. I am sure they will be happy not having to wood-chip them. fyi - dry/brown palm frond is hellish hard to cut, especially for a thick blade.
Once a test plan isn't mud, I will link a new thread to this one. For now, let's keep going here...
