French press fans?

I have a French press but have found a drip coffee maker with permanent filter fine for my taste. The quality of coffee does make a difference. I've gotten lazy and often use pre-ground Colombian from Costco. There are two toasters near my house, both use Mexican coffee from Coatepec which I think is excellent. I have bought green coffee from them and tried toasting in a popcorn maker, it worked but there's really no point in doing it having commercial toasters nearby.

The grinder in the pic belonged to my grandmother and still works fine, I don't use it much. I believe it's from the 1950's.

I got a cheap French press from a local Vietnamese grocery store. Some French roast & condensed milk and viola- cafe sua da.

French press coffee is great. But if the press is defective or worn out (as it is at most coffee houses) you'll get coffee grounds floating in your brew. Sometimes a half dozen, other times a half teaspoon. And you need to be selective about what coffee you use if caffeine is an issue. I tried espresso through a French press a few times. It makes you feel like Superman with a urinary tract infection. So I stick to the milder coffees, like Ethiopian.
