This is a hand forged french style trade axe. The body is 1018 and the cutting bit is 1095fg. Etched to a nice aged patina. The cutting edge is 3 1/4" wide and the head is 5 1/2" long. Some light filework on the spine. Hickory haft, lightly burned, stained and finished with boiled linseed oil. The sheath is 9oz leather, hand sewn and stamped.
