This is trade modeled after the french trade axe that was so prevalent in early america. Completely hand forged in the "wrap & weld" method of construction. Just like the originals were. This one is made entirely from 1065, body and cutting bit. Edge hardened and tempered. Etched to an aged patina. File work on top and bottom of blade. Stamped with our touch mark. The cutting edge is about 2 3/4" wide, the head is around 5 1/4" long. The haft is a very nice piece of curly maple. leather wrapped under the head and sewn with sinew. The haft was stained with aqua fortis burnished and finished with boiled linseed oil. The edge sheath has two antler tip stops. We are asking **SOLD** Our paypal address is phllpwest@bellsouth.net or if you want to send a money order just let us know. Thanks
