I doubt that this knife would be "period correct" for mountain man reenactments but I used that style for an influence and tried to make the knife look like it was made by the local smith a couple of hundred years ago.

Forged from 5160
Flat grind
Machine finish with some forge marks and etched to take the newness off the knife
Curly maple handle with a pewter-like bolster
Overall length: 11 1/2 inches
Blade: 6 1/4 inches
Leather scabbard with rawhide stitching and trim. No belt loop, just a leather thong to tie the knife to your possibles bag. A belt loop can be added if requested.

$150 SOLD delivered to the US or Canada. My email and PayPal account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com I will also take USPS money orders and checks with time to clear. Please contact me for overseas shipping costs.

You know I make, and am a big fan of, period style knives and this one is a really good one! Gotta like the ball handle and the poured pewter collar. Very nice touches on the sheath. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't fit right in at a rendevous.

G.L, your approach to knifemaking is what it should be to everyone that makes. I'll bet that you never get bored. You really inspire me with your long range of thoughts. Mike

Looks pretty correct to me. I guess one could pick it apart but it surely is as representative as may maker's "correct" work.
