I am considering making a freon tank forge, what thickness inswool/itc/sanite
would be the best setup?
What kind of burner would be best venturi or forced air, and would I need more than one burner to keep the heat more even?
What kind of temp gauge would be suitable?

Thanks guys

an inch of inswool, a couple of coats of itc100 should be fine. For a setup this small, one venturi burner will work just fine. I can't help you with the temp guage as I don't use one. One would be nice though.

I have a forge out of a freon tank, I used 2 in and ITC, but 1" would cut it. Ventury would be enough to forge, if you want to weld you need to have it blown.

I weld cable with no problem, 2 inches inswool, ITC, and 1 venturi burner.
