I didn't like my Campanion images, so I made some fresh ones. Color's a little weak (on a black knife, a minor consideration), but detail shows better this time.

First, somebody proposed to "thin" his BK&T handle. Like they said, it's hollow.

Same one that I bashed through the 4" pine log a couple or three times. Hasn't been cleaned or sharpened, still shaves.

Thanks for the scans, Jim. I'm glad I saw them before I started trying to do anything with mine.

The stock grip is way too beefy for my purposes. It looks to me like I could just remove the grips, round the edges in the handle/tang section, and wrap it with leather. What do you think, James?

You could try a leather or cord wrap, but you'd want to get a new sheath at the same time, because a different grip shape wouldn't snap into the Kydex.

You could also sand away black coating under where the handle slabs go (so epoxy can stick), and make yourself a new handle to your liking out of fancy hardwood or micarta (easier if you have a 1" belt sander to do the shaping - wear a mask!) and fasten it with epoxy and pins.
