Freshly back from SHOT

I have yet to go to SHOT or BLADE. I suspect if I did though, I'd spend all my time between three or four booths. The KA-BAR booth, the Ontario booth, TM Hunt and the Spyderco booth.

Don't suspect I'd visit too many gun booths at SHOT, lol

Honestly there is enough time at Blade, what I usually do is first day check out the customs, second day the production fixed blades, Sunday the production folders. Mainly cause I'm not huge into folders so won't spend too much time with them, but it's nice to see them anyway. Mind you, I circle back several times a day to a few booths, Ka-Bar/Hunt/Esee...

Shot show, I'd be a kid in a candy store! I have been told "have a plan" since you can't see everything!

At Blade...

For the life of me I can't remember this fellas name, I bet uncle E can. He's a super cool guy, I bet he has a million stories to tell...

Stay away from this one...

You can hold one of these!

If you can squeeze in, there's this guy...

We did get to visit with Ethan a couple of times but darnit, failed to grab a photo.

I'm jonesing for spring gathering...
I hope it happens!

I just noticed, that's Julio! Hah, nice to meet ya lol. I didn't really know who you were then.

That guy is Ed Fowler. One of the knife industries living legends like Mr Fisk and Uncle Ethan. Great guy. Lots of cool stories, and TONS of knowledge about things sharp and pointy.

Yes! Thank you Silverthorn! That's been bugging the crap out of me!

For sure, it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to visit with him. I missed Mr Fisk, but Ed, just like Ethan, treats a total stranger like hes known you forever. Much respect, was very nice to my ladies as well. Hope to see him again some day.

Hey Slice....

I am glad you enjoyed Ed...... He is a one off, for sure..... A word to he wise ...... Do not leave your women folk unattended for long around him--he is a silver tounged devil....LOL......

Ethan

Haha, yeah, I can see that, he has a certain charm and a way with words.you had mentioned we should have my daughter show him her USMS Corpman Bolo, on the way over about 4 others stopped her to check it out. Everyone of them said the same...show it to Ed Fowler...so I knew we were in for a treat!

Between the gathering and Blade, she realizes what a treasure she has inherited, and is proud of it.

Biscuit, Moose, and Tanner working the Ka-Bar booth at Blade...
THAT would be a Kodak moment...

Yep. Lol. Awkward.

It's just the head shape down to the chin. The cap with the sunglasses on top and the wrist band. Shot show is probably a place preperredmind101 finds cool too and then the kind of hiding because too many people know him and want pictures of him could fit too.
Now if I'd known that the person in the picture was working at the Kabar booth well that would have destroyed my whole theory right before it could have formed. Unless of course he would have remained loyal to Jessica :-p

My favorite story about Ethan was a time when he was walking around a show with a broken knife in his hand. All that he had of the knife was the handle and maybe an inch of what was a much longer blade. The maker had made lots of claims about the quality of his knives and threatened to sue anyone who said anything bad about the quality. I asked Ethan about it and he would not say a word, but did let me look at the handle. The blade had snapped clean, but try as I could Ethan would not say a word about the knife.

It was absolutely perfect!!
