Here are 2 knives that i just finished forging. tough designs to forge especially when the 100 lb propane tank runs out of fuel half way through, so here I am out side in -30C weather detaching the other 100#er from the barbeque, and heaving it over to my shop so I could finish forging. Fun...no!......finished....yes!

Ron -

How far can you 'heave' a 100 lb tank of propane? Now let's see, -30C in Fahrenheit is: (If 0C = 32F) then 5 x -32/9; carry the 2; divide by 9 - 32. I come up with -30C = 68F; right! :D
I used to be good at math but that was a long time ago! Somebody is in for a treat - nice forging job! I hope you or the new owner will 'post' finished pixs of those 2 'rough customers'!

I cant see your pics

Post the pics - I like those integrals of yours

-30C is of course -22F (-30*9/5=-54 -54+32=-22)

Only a bit colder and you can sub zero your blades outside ;). In Finland some bladesmiths have actually used with some success conbination of high winds (+15 m/s = around 35 miles/h) and heavy cold (about -30) while heat treating tool steels. I guess thet they dont get 100% transformatiuon to martensitic (in case of steels like M2) but better results than with only oil or water quench.

LOL! we`ll just say it`s cold!:barf:

It`s about a 20 yard grunt through the snow and all, to hard to roll these tanks in the snow, so I just picked it up and grunted it over there.
I`ll see what happened to the pics, they worked before.

It looks like Fotango is in the middle of doing maintenance. The pictures should be back up at some point tommorow.

Clydetz -- your signature file made me call my wife and check on my dog!

The blades are for me! :D :D :D

The unusual shape required some real fancy hammer work from Ron. He is amazing to work with. I can't wait to see the finished product.
