The resolza is practically the national knife of Sardinia. Almost all are handmade by the individual makers on the island. I've used the heck out this one by Salvatore Usai. Blade is 12C27 and handle is rams horn.

We have a connection over in the traditional forum that can hook you up if you want. He's our Sardinian connection.:D

+1 for JK

A one of a kind piece. It also has a locking screw to make it essentially a fixed blade.

I haven't handled a JK friction folder, but would be willing to bet they are good stuff as his fixed blades are.

Walter Wells (wwels20) has put out some very nice ones, I've really enjoyed the one I picked up from him.

Opinel or MAM. Opinel has a lock on size 6 and up. For your budget, you could get the set, size 1 to 15 ... with the wooden display box.

I've recently bought a higonokami. I'd definitely recommend that and you could buy it for a fraction of your budget :)

Good to see some friction folder love. They are definitely one of my favorite things to make. Before I started making my own I saw a few by Michael Morris that I really liked.
