It's pictured with an earlier 1 I got from Filip.

Gotta say I sorta like those.

I could deal without the hole though, as I believe it is redundate.

Sal Glesser has received a proto type Deviant friction folder and if we are lucky we might be able to buy a Deviant designed spyderco friction folder if Sal likes this concept/design:thumbup:.

Thanks gents, Filip is a good bloke & makes a quality knife.

I really like that.

I also like the idea of a major knife company considering the friction folder concept for a production knife. Let's hope they decide to move forward with it.

That would be nice and knowing a little about spyderco i think we have a great chance to see this knife come available to us.

Yeah it doesn't really need to be there but I have found myself using it a few times.

I talked to Filip about the hole and the opening of the knife.
It was really easier to open the knife with the big opening "lever".
The hole is a bit little but could be used but its not the fastest of the 2.

Filip said it was also a "design feature".
It just looks good an lots of people like the "spyderco holes".
You can get a custom made friction folder with modern materials and modern design for "production knife" money.:)

OrangeJoe you got MOTED.... Faced !

That is a neat looking knife ! I am not too sure of the friction folder concept though for some reason... maybe cuz it's strange to me as I have not yet held one. :)

how is a hole drilled in a blade spydercos? sure they use it on everything...but end of the day its just a hole drilled in the blade, i dont even see how spyderco could patent or copywrite the use of it? its such a basic feature (not hating on spyderco as an FYI, i own a few and love them).

I love a well made friction folder, looks good but like others have said it would do better without the hole.

I think they actually water jet/laser cut it out.
