Just pickin on ya a bit IIRC moted is short for demoted.
Say you and a buddy were fishing and he said you couldnt catch a cold much less a fish , and you caught a huge bass , you could tell him he got "moted" !

The blade shape is similar to that of "shillin cutter" chinese folding knifedated to the Qing period in China. That is still being made by hand in small quantities in Taiwin. I have read that it was the inspiration for Bob Lum's chinese folder, don't know if it's true or not.

The blade shape comes from nature & is based on bamboo leaf shape.

You can get a custom made friction folder with modern materials and modern design for "production knife" money.

Yep have quite a few custom friction folders.
