friction folders

Depends! Do you consider the Svord Peasant Knife good? I know I do! :D

Svord Peasant Knife is awesome! I purchased one with the wood handle then reshaped the scales. Love friction folders!

+1 on the peasant.

I got my peasant off the 'bay. It's a cool knife with very good steel and simple, strong construction. I rounded off the end to make it easier to carry.

Higonokami knives are very nice as well, if they're your thing. Get one while the last licensed maker still makes them.

i meant when the knife is open :P
edit: i guess it doesnt really matter, at this price i wouldnt feel bad about just grinding/cutting a bit off :P

yea im pretty much sold, after watching a few reviews, and checking some prices, definently getting one soon :)

edit: one last question.... whats the best place to buy one of these?

If interested I now offer optional Special Grade servicing on the Peasant Knives. Just throwing it out there, but no matter who you get it from you'll be getting a great budget-friendly friction folder!

ok one last last question, which is best for the handles? im trying to choose between the wood, zinc steel, and black plastic.
i hear the wood comes a little unfinished, i haven't heard much about the plastic and I've heard absolutely nothing about the metal handles.
edit: weight is no issue with me.

The plastic is great, and I like it best, personally. The wood is nice, but you'd likely want to give it a little sanding and polishing to smooth it out a little. Don't get the steel or aluminum unless you plan on using it as liners for adding custom scales to--I hear they're VERY thin to the point of being uncomfortable, since they're just flat stock.

mk thanks for the info, so metal handles are out.
im still haveing some trouble choosing betweel plastic and wood....
the wood looks better (imo) but the plastic would be easier (and the yellow one looks like a banana which is a plus)
i guess ill just get the wood now and a plastic later :P

edit: ok sorry this should be the last question, and this one is for 42, what all does the special grade thing do?

It varies item by item (and is always specified on the item page) but in the case of the Peasant Knives I thin/even out and convex the factory edge and put a finer point on the tip by grinding in a little at the spine.

oh ok, ill probably go without that then :P, but probably still order from you, considering you have that 7 point thing :P.
not sure when ill be able to order though. probably soon though :P

No worries! I plan to keep carrying 'em as long as they make 'em so they're not going anywhere. :D

sorry, i lied again, i have 1 last and final question (at least i think i do XD)
42/barynonyx, does the special grade option even out the grind to a correct "V"? or just make the tip "pointier"?

edit: oops, just realised you already said you did.... i guess my memory isnt verry good is it? XD
