friction folding knife??

So.. if I understand this right... I could take a liner lock knife, remove the steel liners and put just the scales back on, make the pivot really tight and "viola" I now have a friction lock?

I'm kind of playing around with a Buck Strider that way... literally apart in front of me.

Ummm...if you remove the liners, you won't have a liner lock.

Svords are a great and cheap intro to friction folders which you can tinker with. You can make quick and easy frickies out of a folded piece of thin metal and a blade from a trashed knife. No need to tear a liner lock up to play.

As much as I love the simplicity of the friky, I just can't get used to that tang sticking out!

Agreed. Fortunately, not all friction folders have the extended tang feature. :rolleyes:
I was born and raised with friction folders, and I love them, but I would never get one with the extended tang.
Yet, there are Sardinian folders, Opinel's, and so on... ;)

Thanks, Fausto.
I do like the penny folding knife.
But now, I prefer a pocket clip and a lock.

The friction folders from Fausto's country are maybe the most beautiful folders in the world. And no tang sticking out. Anyone who likes friction folders needs to get a Sardinian resolza.

Thank you for the pic, JK.
May I see this gorgeous folder in the closed position?

That's a VERY attractive knife, Fausto! :thumbup::eek::thumbup:
Are the handles horn of some kind?

Yes it's horn.
The knife passed through my hands and is now in possession of a fellow BF member... :rolleyes:
