Is this the forum where Fiddleback Forge posts their knives for sale on Fridays? What time do they go up?

Thanks,
Ed

Saturday Morning

:)

Kidding, of course.

If you scroll below you can see some of the past friday threads. They tend to pop up around 2:30 - 3pm eastern

You can also find some great Fiddlebacks through the dealers.

Bladeco, The Knife Connection, Knives Ship Free are just a few.

Also check out the Flea Market at the top of the forum. There are are great deals for your first Fiddleback.

This is the forum. There's a hints and help sticky that is worth reading.

In the Well... It's friday thread Bamboo will usually post up a heads-up about when the list will be posted.

It's fast and furious. I'd also suggest going back and looking at the prior few weeks offerings so you get an idea about how it all works.

You've got to be a QUICK swimmer to eat in these deep waters. Good luck, it's a great experience.

The only knife I've been able to score from the Friday sale thread is one that hung around for an hour or more after the thread was posted. Good luck snagging anything within the first nanosecond up until about 5 minutes after. These guys are pros and leave no prisoners.

For sure check out the retail sites and even the fleamarket thread. Some great knives can be had without having your fingers bit off.

Not for nothing, but the last 5 fiddleback fridays have all been between 2:45pm eastern and 3:02pm Eastern.

Did you mean Noon, Pacific??

Yes, it's noon Pacific time, 3:00 Eastern, and somewhere in between if you live in the middle of the country.

Could not let this go with out mentioning that we also sell them at USA Made Blade :D!

Welcome, and happy sharking. The best strategy for Friday is to look at what won't be shark bait, i.e. knives bought in the first 2 minutes (the newest profiles or any Runt). Have a good idea of what you want in terms of profile, grind, handle material and steel. List 3 of your favorites and see what happens. If you get all 3 and have budget for only one, kick the other two back. Chances are there was a second bid on those.

Being a newb i was wondering about this exact thing....so it's not considered poor etiquette by Mr. Roy or the other sharks to kick back knives if more successful than expected?

LOL
The process reminds me of throwing a handful of food pellets into a fish hatchery tank. As someone who sells for a living, I'd never subject my treasured customers to something so undignified.

I'm not trolling Fiddleers, and not looking to start nuthin'. Just had to get that off my chest.

I may be in the minority here, but I do consider it poor form to intentionally post to claim three knives when you know that you are only going to buy one. Friday's are already confusing enough for everyone (especially Ken & Andy) without a bunch of people kicking back multiple knives that may in turn mess up people downstream who posted for their third or fourth pick only to discover that their first or second pick is now available and now they don't want the ones they scored and so on and so on. I think the most ethical thing to do is to only post for knives that you are willing to buy. I understand backing out when there is a mix up or mistake with the description. That should be the exception rather than the rule though. Let's avoid gaming the system at the expense of others.

^---- this. Good form goes a long way here. Welcome to the sub forum; see you in the shark tank tomorrow ;)

I've bought Fiddlethingys from 4 retail sites. Whitty ships the quickest by far. I always check out USA Made Blade before I enter the fray.

I forgot to welcome cuttingboard and sharpsteel6249 to the forum. Have fun giving it a go in the shark tank tomorrow if you see something you like. If you don't get lucky tomorrow, keep trying. You day will come as you get more comfortable with the system.

...And I'm glad you didn't Whitty! I owe you an apology my friend. My intention was to get the dealers some love and I dropped the ball.

cuttingboard - Whitty USA MADE BLADE is absolutely one of the best.

I'm going to crawl back under a rock now.... Sorry Whitty. :(
