Yes , The Friday post is back by popular demand :)

I'll be laying around on my butt, butt, butt, because of my friggin hurt back.

What ya'll doin?

Finished my finals for winter quarter on monday so I'm off school all this week and next. Gotta work today and tomorrow. Finally getting some knife work done and getting some time in on the horses too.

Take care of that back Mark. I've tweaked mine a couple times and its no fun at all, can't imagine what it like for it to be chronic:eek: :grumpy:

I'm going to a knife show north of Allentown, Pa. on Sat. then stopping by the Cabelas up there in Hamburg.
Scott

Ground 4 blades last night....found *another* inclusion in a replacement billet for a piece that I wasted a LOT of time on that was wasted due to fatal inclusions.....last time I buy from that maker...

I booked a table at the NCCA show in May, so I am now in full production mode and I am going to try to make a range of knives over the next month and weeks to have there.

Other than that, continuing the house search with the GF...looking at places in southern NH right now....

..probably a good deal of drinking tonight, though!!

Should finish up two mushroom collecting knives for my daughters today. I'll take them to the woods tomorrow so they can try them out. Only bracket fungus around this time of year, but they'll have fun anyway - they love the woods as much as I.

hmmm..

After that, I have an afternoon patrol shift. The little town of Carstairs is only about a mile and a half across. You can't possibly make up any time in a mile and a half. If everyone just drives safe for one day, I can get some finish sanding done at roadside in the PC. :D

Rob!

I'll be finishing up my take on a "Nessmuk" style that I forged.

I'm off all next week (Spring Break), and will get in some shop-time and fishin'-time.

Then its off to the Trackrock hammer-in next Friday.

Hope your back gets better big guy. When the old back goes out, it pretty much puts a fellow down. Take care.

Robert

Normalizing a few today, cleaning the house, maybe even washing one of the dogs (145lbs of stinky musky bullmastiff!), hopefully grinding some too...

Just gotta get through today . . . :D

I think I'm going to try and take Monday off, so it might be a nice weekend. Going to work on some projects with some new toys I got. Tomorrow is a gun show, so I'll be checking out a ton of ARs that I can't afford. :(

Be safe everyone --

Going to the Canadian Knifemakers Guild show and sale in Toronto and that will bring to an end a busy week of finishing up product

Finishing up a saddlehorn trapper...the good part.
Finishing up getting the papers together and organized to take to the accountant...the not as fun part.

Corned me own brisket this week. Will be enjoying that tonight with lots of whisky (Bushmills), and some champ.

Got one out the door today. Already paid for, so thats good.

Going to see V for Vendetta tomorrow with the Missus. I love Natalie Portman. :D

Sunday, working on bathroom closet. yay... :(

Mark, I hope the surgery you have comming up next month will help your on going problems with your back. Usually the bone crusher can fix mine after a couple visits. Plan for today is to do some work on an order and prep some steel for ax and tomahawks seeds. Between the weather and my cows plans are just that and subject to change.

Ima sittin here, on my 53 rd birthday, with a corned beef fixin to go in the crockpot, and looking at a tooth, from the largest gator I ever poached..

I'm thinking about getting ona the blade guys to make me a little hollow ground blade ( 2 1/4 " long ) and nickel silver bolster, with a pen clip, to carry it around in my shirt pocket to open my fish boxes with.
The blade should have a rough tang epoxied into the tooth. ( overall length ..about 3 1/2 inches of steel)

Overall " knife" ? about 3 and 7/8" of knife..
I'll handle the sheath/sleeve ( gator hide, of course )

The top of the blade should have a filed( or drilled) dimple so the "pen clip" will grip good.
The pen clip could be spring steel with a small bearing soldered to the tip and be bent to precisely fit the hole/notch in the top of the blade
Pen clip( thingy) should face toward the tip.

The tooth is 1.762 inches long with an oblong opening of . 407 X .332 at the root end.

I may have to get making it myself ?

Sound neat ?
