Just seems like yesterday :D

Gonna do some grinding on a damascus piece tonight. Family duty on Sat , Who knows about Sunday.Looks like nice weather though. What ya'll up to?

Not quick enough Mark, and with the crappy weather up here 50s in the daytime 20s at night everything turns to mud and then freezes at night making it impossible to walk across the yard without tripping over the rutts from the frozen mud.

If we get some dry weather and no ice I'd like to take the Yamaha out, if not looks like I'll be out takin' pictures.

I should be settin' up the old forge I found at an auction.

Two words also "shovel snow". So the weatherman says. I'll believe it when it's on the ground . Lousiest winter i've seen in a while. No snowmobilling or ice fishing yet this year. Other than that, finish up a fillet knife and two 8" chef knives, and ht trt. 4 blades I have ready. have a good weekend.

Supposed to rain out here Saturday, probably take a trip Sunday up to the woodcarvers meeting and see if I can buy some folding wood carving knives.

Sorry bro, NH is full up on knifemakers. :D

I'm going to finish a folder today. Probably be posting pics later.

All I can say is 80+ hours plus and hour drive each way for the next 7 day. I love being a lab tech:jerkit: By the way the smilie is me mixing some blood.
You guy have a good weekend.

Took the day off to work in the shop -- not sure what I'm doing on the computer. :D

Got my 250 lb. Little Giant all painted up nice and purty last week, will install the rebuilt 7.5 HP 3 phase motor on it today. Got to figure out bases for the hammers, 25 through 250. Want to keep them mobile, not attached to a big huge mass of concrete in the foundation (even though that's the only proper way to go). Still searching for the ellusive 500 pounder!

You guys are killin me with all this fun talk. Probably no shop time for me this weekend as I'm about to leave for a day's driving and sales calls which will leave me 150 miles from home at the end of the day. Then it's up early to help conduct a sales training meeting on state of the art remote controls for one of my accounts. Once that's finished around 11:00 AM it's turn around and drive home. By the time I get home most of Saturday will be forfeit asnd I'll be beat, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to keep the bills paid and have spare money to buy tools with.

Figured you guys might get a kick out of my fiasco last night...

My wife's grandmother died, and last night was the funeral. I rush home from work, change into some 'funeral clothes', and we hop in the truck. Not more than 1/2 a mile from the house, a deer decides to launch underneath the driver's side tire. BUMP! under the first tire, but it obviously had some serious momentum because BUMP! under the passenger tire, too!
Now I live pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so there's almost no traffic... UNTIL I decide to hop out and put the deer out of it's misery with the fixed blade I keep in the truck. No sooner do I sever it's spinal cord than not one, not two, but THREE cars drive slowly past me leaning over a dead deer with a big, bloodsoaked knife in my hand. Typical of my luck, for sure...
Pull the poor little guy over to the side of the road, hop in the truck, pick up my father and off to the funeral. For he rest of the night I have to tolerate all the snide comments about 'getting your first deer' with the truck instead of my rifle, as my father ratted on me to all and any he could get to listen.

So, technically speaking, did I kill my first deer with the truck, or with the knife?:D

If that deer wasn't DEAD when you sliced it, I'd go with the knife story....if they ask you to elaborate, you can include the truck reference. haha

Definitely wasn't dead before I cut it's spinal cord, but I'm still not sure I'm willing to take credit... think I'll just stick to the razzings and beatings!
