Funny , a few of you are grumping cuz of 'bad' weather , here itll be 91' ... I would much rather have thunderstorms or snow... oh well , thats why I have A.C. I guess.
Have a safe weekend folks , Todd.

Bad cold. Worst year I can remember for allergies causng asthma. Thus I can't get around much on the end of the oxy hose (read: no shop time). All I can do is sit in my chair, watch the Cubs lose, and watch the forum on the laptop waiting for you characters to write something interesting so I can be a wisea$$.

Pretzels or popcorn, anyone? ;)

Hope you all have a good weekend..... :)

GrassHoppa, your friends will only be watching. I promised the other guys the use of the smithy and I am using the cold shop.

Hey Grasshoppa, do you have any beeswax left? I need to buy some for sheathmaking. If ya got any bring me a chunk and I'll pay you today at I.G.S. Thanks!

Scott, that's sad news about your aunt. Our deepest condelences to you and your family. I just got my wife home from the hospital Thursday and am keeping close to home, keeping an eye on her. She was 80 miles from home, so I was driving it every day. That meant taking a week off work, but she is worth it. She's doing real good. I boxed up IG's and J.'s shrapnel in their boxes to send out Monday. I also included some pleshetts. I am working on a couple of hunters for a customer in Kentucky. He ordered a custom leather semi pancake holster from my sheath maker the other day, and it arrived today, so I gotta send it out Monday, too. Today, I fixed a disposal leak under the kitchen sink, in between visiting with ol' Abe (my sheath maker) and trying to get some knife work done. I also received in the mail a generous check from a customer today. Shucks, this weekend is shaping up! Tomorrow is shop time, and hopefully,Sunday will be too, plus some time at the gun range for that weather delayed .17HMR 100 yard shoot-off. I plan on trying to hit the black, anyhow. IG and J. Neilson, you got email.

Scott, sorry to hear about your aunt, too! :( RIP

John, prayers for your wife..... :)

Thanks guys for the kind words about my Aunt. I've slowly been losing members of my family over the past 8 years or so. It's to be expected as of course we're all getting older. She was 76 and really lived a full life with no regrets. We went yesterday and the family (my Mother's side) is handling it well. She traveled alot and was in Florida visiting her daughter when she had a heart attack. She was on life support but had a living will stating that she was not to be kept alive by life support. This is a good example where it is important to have a living will especially after the recent incident on the news. The funeral is Monday.

I hope where they let her come home, that things are better and she's on the mend.., I know some times , it's not the way, they did let her come home because she is better right? when it comes down to it, our life partners are our everything .
getting old sux..

I like to write a little went I'm down some times and don't claim to be a poet

but this is one I wrote
a year or two ago..it's not very good...

Oh God,
The Pain and the sorrow we feel from the loved ones you let us borrow.
Though it seems a short time. We know in our minds
It could have been tomorrow.
So when we're blessed, With a family that's the best
We thank you for the time we also borrowed
Oh God, but It's still hard to face the test of that kind of sorrow.
For when we die though we may think your mean.
We leave with-in our loved ones, that part of us, which will always be seen.
We know in our hearts and mind you ARE really kind
Even though we think we need more time.
We Know,
We are in good hands with you, yours, and mine.

Thanks, Dan, that was very nice! Yep, she's doing pretty good, and going back there in a couple of weeks for some more work. Maybe I will have her bouncing around here this summer, yet. Genesis East in Davenport, IA, is a heart clinic that has done her wonders. She has a defib. and pacemaker combo they put in her about 3 years ago, and they had a RECALL on it. So, she has to go in and have the damn thing replaced. They can't yet because she has some other blockage to take care of beforehand. For 48 years old, she has had two heart attacks and twice open heart surgerys. And, been up there 6 or 8 times to be routed out and added a dozen stents. She's a tough 5' 2" Cherokee that is gonna get well yet!
