there was a thread earlier by Will i think about the difficulty of trying to come up with origional knife designs. so i was thinking about it today and tonight i let my big kids look at some of my knife drawings and then turned them loose to draw their own. they are my son 9, and my twin girls are 7. anyhow they really surprised me with some of their design ideas. of course i had to fix them all but i probably got about 9-10 design ideas out of them. courxsxe it took about 40 attempts to get the few. either way it was a fun way to spend some time with them. so next time your out of ideas grab your kids, your grand kids or maybe even your neighbors kids and give it a try.

oh and one of my girls did really well even better than the boy! wonder what the baby could do he's only three tho?

My daughter drew a knife last night when I was doing the same. I think it was the first picture of hers that I could tell what it was (she's 2).

This thread would be even better with examples of their designs!

I did the same with my 5 year old boy. For some reason all of the designs looked like trucks or trains:eek:

My kid (9, girl) gets some funny looks and questions from teachers because so many of her drawings involve knives and swords. Not to worry she also draws unicorns and princesses and so on.

Regardless, any time you spend with your kids doing something creative has to be a good thing  :) I remember clearly my dad showing me how to draw a "3D" box... then make it into a car body... then draw in the wheels etc etc. Good times!
