Ahh..........

Another end of a good week. Only good because the work part of it went by like a blur.

Have plenty of projects to work on and it's finally starting to feel like forging weather :D Nice and cool.

Was thinking about going camping but need to get some things done.

What you fellas got going on?

I have a batch of six tantos going, plan to get them to HT stage this morning and HT them Saturday morning. All the regular domestic claptrap in between.

The past two weeks have been days of remarkable ineffectiveness in my paying work so it's good to make progress in the work that makes me happy. ;)

I have a big contract coming up on Sunday and it's g:grumpy:ing to take all day t:grumpy:day and t:grumpy:m:grumpy:rr:grumpy:w to prepare f:grumpy:r it.....
I w:grumpy:n't even be able to sight in my new muzzle l:grumpy:ader this weekend
......

soo... you're excited about your weekend Peter? :D

Sorry, that's gotta suck -- the good thing is, big contract probably means big money.

I'm going to take the shop dog out on Table Rock Lake for the early goose season. The rest is spent finishing up blades and taking Winston (shop dog) to see if he can't become a man. He tried earlier this week, but his "ladyfriend" wasn't quite in heat yet. He sure did put on a very humorous (and disturbing) show. :)

Oh and I might toss back a few brews.

I'll be working more on this:

Hoping to get that staging down tonight.

I was planning to disappear Saturday on the motorcycle but the forcast is 40-50f with wind and 30s at night :grumpy: A few weeks ago I tracted down a bunch of kids I hung around with about 40 yr.ago so I planned to go see them. I guess I will spend Saturday at the shop -- we are sort of behind on a few jobs. Maybe my kids won't be watching to close if I start a new knife :D I do plan to watch the weather though and maybe sneek off on Sunday. By the time the kids try to track me down to baby sit or some other fun thing I will be long gone :D

Good ol' Cleveland Co. Fair tonight. Yall come down now yah hear? :)

Concrete is comming at 10am unless they call me and change it again. This will be my second and last pour on my shop addition. Hope to have the framing and metal siding done this next week. So far the weather has been on my side. Feels like its been months since I've done any knife or hawk work.

man after working on auto's for years don't I hate to work on my own :grumpy:

got to put a water pump in the old Bonneville :grumpy: I don't no why? it's only got
205,000 on it ,, the other Bonneville's pump lasted at least 240,000..
got to lov those 3.8's though :D

then Sunday I'm going to a forging demo at a Historical Site here in Maine
Leonard's Mills
Necka's own Paul Carlson will be doing a demo Sat and Sun there.. :D

Doing a gunshow this weekend. Finally got my t-shirts with my logo in the works. Hope to have them in about 3 weeks. Hats too if I've got enough cash. Screen printing ain't cheap. :grumpy: Still no bow hunting :grumpy: I will make time next week. I got fire-up driving home from work this morning. I get off at 5:00AM and saw a nice buck trying to cross the road. Hey Peter, I still need to check my muzzleloaders. I have a Knight Bighorn 50 cal and a TC Encore pistol 50cal. What do you use, traditional or modern? Have a good weekend guys, stay safe.

One of these days I really am going to get a nasty email from Kit! :o

I build Ml's Scott. Every year I build a new one but I'm running behind on this one Just for Deer season. It's usually a full stock and I really like Lancasters and Southern mountain rifles but this year the Deer rifle is a Plains Rifle.

Some of the members have already seen it but here it is:
.58 cal 1 " X38" bbl
Aquafortis stained Maple
Rust brown steel
Forged furniture and lock

Man that is a nice looking piece. I do like the traditional frontloaders. I've always wanted to get one. The modern guns are a little more user friendly for me. I guess it's all what you get use to using. I'd like to hear of your hunting experiences this fall. Next to knifemaking, deer hunting is a passion of mine. Been at it for over 20 years. Good luck this year. :D

What a weekend!! I'm done with the blades for another week. Got the whole batch done in plenty of time for the Columbus Ohio Knife show next weekend.

Just added a dog to the family, my first. Believe I'll stay home and PLAY :D
She's a fine pup, one year old and better trained than I could do. Seems sad no-one wanted her. She ended up in the pound. Half lab, half retriever. Beautiful pup (if she can still be called a pup at 50 pounds).

My direct flight for JAMAICA leaves at 7am to an all inclusive resort on Negril beach. Just the wife and I for 5 days. Both kids have to stay home while my mother house/kid sits. They will be sorry I ever heard of all inclusive when I am done with them. I don't think I will sober up until Saturday. I know several of you are dry, I maybe after this trip.
I did pack my latest KI, Blade and a book on metalurgy so it's kind of knife related.
:D :D

My Friday began yesterday afternoon. I took a day and a half off work to get caught up on my knifemaking. I'm not caught up but I made a tonne of progress.

I now feel alot better about what I have left to do for clients and also for shows this winter. I'm going to the Las Vegas knife show this winter and although it sounds early to be starting now I have to given all the other stuff I have committed to and having a day job.

Have a good weekend everyone.
