Jeagar, what did you do to your thumb? It sounds bad! IG, what do you think, soak it in whiskey followed by consuming 6 shots of whiskey to fend off infection? I just strolled back in from the shop for java and thought I should check on you rascals before I head back to the shop. So far, our weather here is great, making shop work much more desirable. It's a shop weekend!
John: Some JD mix with HT relish will cure just about anything. HMMM!!! Or maybe kill it.  :D

You know George- Jack Daniels in a big jump for a 16y/o- start with a bit o cabo wabo. If I can reach my freezer, I'll be back with a few more brand names.

Ha Ha!! :p
I got a good laugh on that one...thanks Peyton...even though I don't like alchohol! :p :)
I was try-fitting the spring on a lockback kit. I had the blade edge toward my finger...stupid...stupid. I was actually thinking about 5 sec before it happend "I'd better be careful, I could cut myself pretty good" Oh man, wish I'd listened.
I didn't feel my thumb at first, only my index finger, which has a tiny cut...I then wondered where all the blood was coming from and saw my thumb. Looked like I'd split it clear down the middle  in the first few seconds. Had to get 6 stitches. When I take the bandage off to clean it tonight, I'll scan it into the 'puter to show you guys. I'll put the knife in too...Least I know it's sharp now! :D

Well, My weekend almost went south before it got started. The saddle maker loved his new knife! said it cut better than anything he had used in a long time. :D Then I got home and went out in the shop and was trying to even up the taper on a tang when the disk grinder (sears combo 8" disk and 2x42) grabed the knife and wedged it between the disk and the table/dust guard. I ducked then turned the grinder off, and feared the worst. When I dug the blade out it had a small gruve just in front of the plunge cut on the spine side, but with about 15 min of work I was able to get it out. Now it is a bit thinner than it was but it looks ok. :)

Yah brain, I did something like that on Christmass a few years ago. It's funny how your hand is red (along with the carpet) and you don't feel a thing for a few seconds.

Well, let's see. First I have to take cats to the vet, after that I have to try and get the electric window fixed up on the honda (had to drive home 45 mi in the rain Wed night w/ the drivers window down. Then I should be able to get a few hours in before I have to go to my parents to celebrate their birthdays and help move a piano.......
Sunday at least looks good for some real shop time. Gotta grind out the pits i etched into my afganistan blade last weekend.... Hopefully will get it finished this time.

Doing a 3 day gunshow this weekend. i didn't think I'd make it because I got sick along with the rest of the family. I feel better but not 100%. Have a good weekend.

sorry about the focus, new camera, so still getting used to it. I'll try again this eve. when I take the bandage off. It was just barely enough to warrant stitches, but I went ahead and got em since I play piano. This spot is right where you hit the key, and if I lost it it wouldn't be very good :( . Forunately the doc said it'll grow back fine :D

Oh yeah,
Mr. Goode, how are you doing after that crash?
I didn't get a chance to respond to that thread...

jeagar, that looks sore! Heal quick, and keep it clean. Hey, the knife looks like it is coming along real fine.

Yeah it does doesn't it! Those japanese are pretty good :D . It's a kit I bought. :( I got it for a friend, and I'm going to copy all the parts down so I can make one from scratch next.
I wish I made it though! :D
~Brian

Hope you heal quick.

Take care of your hands, your back , your eyes and your teeth. ...In that order :)

Jaegar- I am doing fine now. I had the stomach virus that knocked me on my A**. That was worse than the wreck! Keep that hand clean my man.

Bri: Have you tried it YET?

Boy I tell you what IG - I was OUT FOR THE COUNT this week. Funny - I was lying in the bed at 7:00 thinking about that relish! I did tast it. Thinking about using it on some bbq chicken. What do you recomend it on? HOT STUFF I TELL YOU!!!!

Bri: I use it on about everything, but sparingly. You can aways add more. I'll have to send you another recipe for shrimp Portuguese style. I get BBQ sauce from the store and add it to that. :D

Went to a leather sculpting demo at the local Tandy Leather. Wow.....Some of the stuff he( Jim Linell) did was breathtaking. eagles, horses. tooling and he explained how he does it. He went thought the processes of embossing a horse on 2 oz leather. 3D almost looked like it could run away. He made it look easy but he has been doing it for 40 years.
Here is some picts of the demo. Now I got to get more toys (tools) and practice......Just one more thing to do.

Now I will have to figure how to put these on sheaths.
