Two more Fridays before the new year !!

Still plugging away at getting the barn turned into a shop. Heading down a bit further South to see family for Christmas.

What ya'll doin?

Hey Mark,
Got a few made in the new shop. Today we'er just winding this dog and pony show up at the cleaners till next week. I'll try and finish the wiring in the barn this weekend. Give Deb a hug. Have a safe trip south.

Grandma flew in last night, and my wife should be back in town tonight. Not feeling too Christmassy though. I've got some last minute shopping to do, and I'll try to get a little shop time in before I go insane.

Oh, and did I mention that my company is probably going to be laying people off....on Tuesday...I'm safe, but some of my friends aren't...

Bah Humbug....and stuff...

Just handed out the last of my Christmas rush knives to the guys at work this morning. There were four fillet knives and two little pricks for a total of 23 knives sold at my plant this season!

That's it for me until the the second week of January. Gonna take a little time off from knifemaking during the holidays. My oldest daughter and niece are coming out for a week long visit starting next Tuesday.

I gotta do some driving right after work and won't be back until Monday night, then go back to work on Tuesday. No shop work until next week. :(

Everyone have a safe one!

after the chefs set and then the 2 santukos and one more knife to be done today im taking a slight brake ish
tomarow sleeping in and then maybe getting the bandsaw hot so i have blanks to profile on monday and
also next week i ll be working on a dress kabar and the next 10 in chefs knife

Tonight I am finishing 5 letter openers i made for gifts. 4 are 440, one is 1084 with a double hamon...more of a dagger than a letter opener.

We have xmas plans all weekend then are having 20+ relatives over xmas day for a big gathering. I'll be glad when its all over!

Hope to get some nice knifemaking related gifts this year....small wheel attachment for the KMG, new resperator, etc etc.

I am trying to get a lil hunter done. This would be the first knife that I complete this year.:( Going forward I should have more time with the help of Lil Mamma.
Cooking up a 5# prime rib roast on Xmas for Helen and me. :D

Last day in the office before the Christmas holidays. We aren't traveling until the weekend after Christmas but my wife's mom and her husband are coming to stay through Christmas. The only knives getting done around here are made in my head or by my local knifemaking buddies!:( I may try and get in a little shop time, today I need to find some decent steaks to serve to company Christmas eve that don't cost an arm and a leg!

Got to travel to Dallas for Christmas, be home Tuesday (by myself) in the shop until we leave for Hot Springs on Friday the 29th. 4 days all to myself in the shop...can't wait. I love spending time with the family on the holidays so it will be a great break. Everybody have a blessed Christmas and a safe New Years.

We will be home for the holidays. Family is coming to share a meal with us.

I got a call this morning from a gentleman who wants to build a knife to commemorate the loss of someone dear to him.

The conversation, bought into focus the need to reach out to all those in need. And there are many.

Fred

Wow, I just realized how much it looks like there's leaves all over the place behind it!

For the record, it's all pea gravel for 15 feet in any direction from the forge. Otherwise, the forge wouldn't be where it is!

Just back from Disney last night. 3 out of the 6 of us got a stomach flu, and I didn't get hired for the role of Goofy, (despite Indian George's endorsement) but it's still the happiest place on earth. Probably very little knife in the very next week. I got my etcher from Mike Wilson, so I'll practice etching my mark. Kinda glad to be done with the old stamp. I have one knife I should be finishing up shortly, probably post it for sale on here.

Even though no one has asked, but, I can say with some confidence, that, we are all interested in knowing, What that big handle be for on top of the forge?
Does this double as a deep fryer? Is it large enough for a turkey?

Good looking forge,

:confused:Fred
