Bright sunny day here.Wont last though.

Got a million things I need to do, hopefully I'll at least get straightened up in the shop from all the construction mess that's all over the place :D

What ya'll doin this w/e?

I'm about to head out to the Pasadena "Knife Expo".
Beautiful, sunny day, should be in the mid 70s. Nice day for the show.

got to put handles on a nice damascus knife i'm working on. but then i got called back to work to drop off some stuff for an account. ah well 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back, still got my night to finish up the handles.
hope you all have a nice friday/weekend and don't get called into work:thumbup:

Got a Big Pot of my Hi-test chili cooking for tomorrow. Helen has been my taste tester, to make sure that the heat will be acceptable for a normal person.:D I think that her taste buds are getting burnt out too with my cooking style.

I've got to meet an old friend in Dove Creek, CO tomorrow morning to deliver a knife for his grandson's birthday-emergency, last minute order-I got it out since last weekend.

I am in the middle of cutting up and freezing the front end of an Oryx a friend of mine got on a special hunt on White Sands Missle Range last weekend. I worked up handloads of Barnes X .270 bulltes for him and gave him a new knife for the hunt and he suprised me with boku meat when thay got back. I'll have to finish it off tonight. There is a load of jerky drying in the dehydrator now. I made some Carne Adovada (New Mexico soul food) with it last night.

All in all, it has been a full week and the weekend will be busy too.

Putting handles on 3 knives after doing the "final" hand sanding of the blades. And for once, they all look halfway decent and they all cut!!!! :D Going to drop by Sullivan's holster shop on Monday to see if he has a couple of the Randall Model1 style sheaths for my fighter and my Camerer fighter in the display case. Got one Model one sheath for $37! Pretty good deal for a quality sheath and all I have to do is make my blades to a general size to fit any common Randall sheath. The Type C sheaths for a Model 14 are $40. I think I can find some takers for a blade that size in this town what with all of the spec ops guys here:D The off to Europe for a week Tuesday....woooo hoooo!!!!!!!

trying to start another batch of knives....Ship a batch of knives Monday and in between...

I should probably stack firewood and clean the shop. I'll probably end up banging out the next damascus billet though :)

Very nice. I like the little airweights. They're a fun little gun to shoot. One day I'll probably have one, but not today.

Have several knife projects started....will probably bounce around on all of them and not get anything close to finished. :)

Ain't that the truth? because of all of my travel and my ongoing bout with tendonitis. I am actually finishing up 5 of the the 7 blades that I forged right before Christmas......lol

I sure would like to stop by Helen and IG's on Saturday. Only holdup is I'm 800 +/- miles west of you.
So this Fri and week end building the jigs and patterns for a Doc's pattern slipjoint so I can get going on the one on order I need/want to get going....mokume of Ti/Niob/copper. 14k gold, real antique tortoise shell handles, and a really good guy of a client to work with.
A Good Friday, and gonna be a Fine weekend.....

Now if I can just keep my foot out of my mouth on other threads....

Welded up four damascus billets. Worked one up into 3/16 x 1 1/4 twist knife stock. Got the other three cut, ground and tacked together for the second stack. Finished updating my web site and quit for the day.

Well work is still slow/non existant, so I'll be messing around at home again this weekend. Have a lot of manure to haul now that I finally got the spreader dug out of the snow, but I'm hoping to get some shop time in.
Might go swap out my empty propane tanks and try to hammer on some leaf springs I've got laying around. It'll feel good to smash the heck outa something :D
Saturday night the whole family is gettin together for my grandpa's birthday. There will be about 25 of us from all over so hopefully this winter storm that supposed to bring 2 inches of freezing rain tomorrow will hold off until everyone gets back home...

tonight i need to finish cleaning out my 250'-300' long by 18" deep trenches that have been sitting in the weather for about a month and its all limestone. tight fit with a pick axe. saturday my uncle is supposed to come out here to lay the pipe and then pull the wire for my RV hookup. sunday ill head into town to moms house and spend a few days there helping her clean up my grandfathers house since he passed away december 5th. monday goto one of my banks and pull $200 and deposit it into my other bank so i can use my credit card online for orders of materials for my forge and to use it to by a few other things. then come home and hopefully finish my forge and get the tank refilled and then take pics of it and post it on the forums. once its ready then fire it up and finally straighten out some leaf springs and make some stock cutouts. going to try and find a belt grinder with a 2" belt for about $50. finally be able to get the ball rolling in this passion/obsession/hobby. cant wait.

Dang, I have to work all weekend, and at night so i don't get to see much of the sunshine as i'll be sleeping!!
