Wow.. Friday already :)

I hope to finish up two projects this w/e and start on the design of a knife that I will hopefully be able to mass produce in the near future.

Might even go fishing :D

I agree...fast week!

Going to a local blacksmithing association meeting tomorrow for the first time. I didn't know there was a local assoc.:confused: The pres of the group heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that I was forging blades and shot me an email invitation.

My buddy Tony had an extra Burr King laying around gathering dust so he offered it to me to use. Going to clear off some wasted bench space and get that puppy up and running tomorrow afternoon.

Yesterday my LARGE air compressor sounded like it was single phasing (3 phase motor) but it turned out to be one of the valves in the compressor leaking. This should be a lot of fun to repair:mad:
 
The weather this weekend is going to be in the 40's to 50's this weekend. About damn time:grumpy: :grumpy: My ex-brother-in-law is coming over to measure up what we are going to need to put the roof up over my smithy.:cool: :thumbup: At the present time he has no jobs lined up for next week so it looks like we will be jamming. Also we got to pick out some colors for his Harley that I am painting for him doing my roof.
They are saying that next Wednesday it may even get to 60 degrees. COOOOOL!!! If it get to 60 I am hitting the beach with my new tong bathing suit.:eek: :eek: HEHEHEHEHEHE!!! It was only 4 degrees here this morning.:jerkit:

goignto try and hit whyerbocker on the trip around as i ll be within 20 mile of a great micro brew

Well its great outside and appears to be warming up finally. I am looking toward to the warmer weather. Working today on another project and will be finishing up a knife to shipped out to a customer. I want to thank all who's signed my guest book this week on my website. Its good to hear your comments. May God richly bless your knife making skills and continue to do so.
 
Road Trip! With good friends, visiting other good friends, hitting a couple of wineries, gotta figure out how to see the Indiana U Big Ten Tournament games Fri night and Sat pm.
Also working on a couple of prototypes of a special Dr. Knife....Then on to getting the final one done for my client.
 
I've a few things lined up this weekend, primarily building a new portable mount for one of my post vises out of a huge pile of 2x4s. Making sure my order for a motor and step pulleys is processed, and placing an order for a 10x2x72 coote grinder.

Should also be placing an order with Darren Ellis for some itc100, propane hose, regulator, and some fire bricks so that i'll have everything i need to finish the new forge I'm working on for this spring.

(can you tell my income tax return arrived? =P)

(Yay, i'll finally have a belt grinder and be able to realy get down to making some blades)
 
I got an order for a bunch of my cheetah pattern last night, so It looks like I'll be doing that this weekend. I also have a new knife pattern that I call The "Little Bugger" I think I'll be grinding out a few of those as well.

Back in town for a bit, so one again, I am going to try to fisnish up a few of the knives that I forged before Christmas when the tendonitis and constant travel flaired up....sheesh
 
Profile some blades. Which is what I should have done yesterday, but you know how that goes.

Hot bluing a blade or two. A cordwrap tanto. Maybe some mycarta....It's Butches fault.
Trying to figure what to work on for a road trip in a couple weeks. Maybe slot some steel for a hawk or two.

I'm going to try to heat up that 01 and get a knife hammered out. We'll see.

Very close to sending pmt for a Coote too.
 
I've got 3 recurves to put handles on this week end. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post Monday.

No cordwrap on this project , maybe we can do a few blades whilst your here.

I got the cruise control recall taken care of on my PU, toured the local junk yard in search of material for a new press, put new belts on my drill press, picked up 40lbs of propane and went by Harbor freight and bought two pairis of ear protection muffs. The morning has been busy. Working on a batch of knives this afternoon.
