Not as bad as it sounds...just a little work on my legs! Walking was mandated by the doctor...so here's my nature/physical therapy hike with some pics. It's the first time in a long time I've been able to get out by myself...and I must say it felt good! :D

Walking along the "400 Trail" ( a bike trail) I noticed that there really were no interesting plants up yet, so just scenery for you. -Matt-

Its so pretty this time of year, when the brown trees and water contrast starkly with the bright green shoots. Great pictures.

Nice pictures - and glad to see you taking charge of your physio.

What is that knife???

Also I got really confused with your tag line thinking it was tied to your last picture. Only thing that came to mind was that it might be a good quote to use on my wife at nighttime :)

Civilian gear rocks .
Yeah it does! This was the first time I had it out since I got it about a month ago. It has my "adventure gear" in it. Compass, starflash mirror, jet scream whistle, 22 mag derringer (optional accessory:D) 2 knives, lighter, blank firesteel, watch, pen, flashlight, cell phone etc. I still have to make my fishing kit and add some other stuff.

I should have been more specific about the doctor thing. I'm being treated for varicose vein disease, and I had two large veins lazered shut on Friday so the walking helps heal them faster. Nothing detrimental to overall health, but it will help me walk further and stand longer.
The knife is a Kellam Knives utility knife...you can find the same knife on Ragnar's site unter Ahti Knives.
I never thought about that tag line with that ominous pic...kinda cool though. Feel free to use that on your wife! :D:thumbup: -Matt-

Very nice, there is no better form of exercise than hiking !

I'm certainly hoping to get out some more this year...perhaps some biking as well! I don't know the story behind "Allison's Spring", but I also found the inscription quite fitting! -Matt-

Hey Doc,

"Hiking: There is no better exercise while in a vertical state" ;)

Wanna debate? :D Although, at my age, you may be right.:)

Good to see you back here, Skunk. Saw Rescue Mike in here as well - good to see him, too.

Skunk, you been practising that bow drill?

Doc

Looks like a great area, and has got to be some great therapy for you. I was just watching a travle channel show on WI and never realized all the wild forest areas you have there!
