All the shop in progress threads I have posted up till now, about building the new smithy, have been titled Bethel Ridge Forge with the stages of construction noted.
But today, moving day, was not so much about the new smithy, it was about the value of good friends and their willingness to help.
A dozen people showed up, at eight o'clock, to help with the move.
Carl, Ed and John, drove down from Columbus with a Bobcat loader. Moon, Jeff, Dave and Dave arrived early for the coffee cake and fresh coffee my wife and sister in law had made. Mark arrived about nine with the big Case backhoe to move the Bridgeport mill and the air hammer. My nephew, Steve and Clyde came ready to work at 7:00AM.
Three of my blackbelt students, Tyson, Sam and Aaron spent the day toting and lifting. They were a great help.
We stopped for a quick lunch around 11 and then worked on till three in the afternoon setting the last of the loaded pallets under the carport.
Today was special; having so many friends to work, talk, laugh and spend the day with.
Thanks for making my day guys, Fred
Jeff, welding a new leg on the heat treating forge.
Moving the air hammer into position.
Rolling the Bridgeport on pipe sections to get into position.
My lovely wife Debbie, making us laugh.
Mark and Ed fixing the flat from the Bobcat loader.
Dave steadying the air compressor.
Moon and Carl enjoying a cigar and knife talk.
Just about got it.
Worn out and sharing a bottle of home made plum wine.
Moon walked to the old shop, in a driving rain, to get a floor jack so we could change the second flat of the day. This one was on the dually truck that had bought the Bobcat from Columbus. You the man Moon.
