Friendship to Brotherhood, Thank You to Duncan!!!

It’s heartwarming to wake up, especially during these times we’re living in, to read a story like this. I’m glad that you two have found each other, and that the porch has found both of you. I’ve had many interactions with Paul, and a few with Duncan, and can assure everyone that they are in a class of their own. Thanks for sharing your story. You guys keep hope alive. Lance

First off thanks to all and your kind comments, Duncan is a very generous and sincere Mate:thumbsup: even with all his many flaws:D

Two of the finest fellers I know :) Legends! ;)

Thank you Jack, a good friend you are and you and Duncan share many LEGENDARY traits;)

Nice Stag!! I thought you guys were Blood Brothers!! Aren't you??:D
You must be, what with all the insults hurled back and forth!!
Congrats to both of you guys!!!

Thanks Charlie, but insults??? I just feel Duncan should know the truth:eek::D;)

Man are we lucky to have you two fine gentlemen here on the Porch. You guys are part of why this forum is such a great place. Oh, there's some others too. You know who you are!
Thanks Gary, I agree with your "others too" and there many here that make the porch so great, you among them:thumbsup:
Um.... I'm pretty sure once you open that box...it can't be shut...it will now, forever in my mind, be New Zedland!!!!

It cannot be unheard/unthought!

I blame you, Paulhilborn!!!
LOL, I agree that it sticks with you and in turn...Thanks Duncan!!!:p

From under the porch I feel happy for you both. I knew Duncan was more classy than the average bear the first time I sold him a knife - he paid MORE than I asked. He always does that - said he ;)

And paulhilborn paulhilborn - you are known by the company you keep. So - I like you too :)

And then there is the very fine trio of beautiful folders. Nicely done you brothers!

Ah yes, Duncan is always one to pay more...he is terrible at math!!!:D seriously, he does do that EVERY TIME when he reimburses me for the shipping and like you, many say he pays more than the asking price:thumbsup:

Paul, that’s a beautiful stag trio, and an outstanding gift from a good friend! The generosity, of course, is not surprising. If you made a list of the most generous Porchenbergers*, Duncan would certainly be towards the top. Of course, we all know that the recipient in this case is prone to generosity, as well!

* Term borrowed from another antipodean Porch regular.

Do they also pronounce the letter H as “haitch” instead of “aitch”? :D

The same guy who would give away his lost-then-found 2012 PPP TC Barlow. :D

Thanks Barrett, yep he talked about that missing knife for sometime and often said he was "gutted" by it's loss. In true Duncan fashion, what does he do? offers it up in a GAW:eek::)

Beautiful and highly desirable Stag there Paul! Anyone of them could be a centerpiece in a Stag collection. I feel like I know a little about you pair of misfits. My experiences with you guys on our efforts to help some of our fellow friends here on the forum, that were in need, actually taught me a lot about you guys. You’re both not only generous to each other, but you won’t hesitate to step up and help friends in times of need! I personally have received gifts from both of you and I know many others here on the Porch can say the same. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and spending a short amount time with you both at the Rendezvous. I can say without any hesitation that you both are true gentlemen and I’m proud that I can call you both my friends! You’re what helps to make this Porch the great place that it is. It’s true what they say, “Birds of a feather flock together!”

Thank you Ron, we felt the same way by being blessed to meet you and Pam as well as so many wonderful people at the rendezvous. While I carried Duncan's luggage through the airport;););) we absolutely were so taken aback by the "people" we met. Oh the events and rendezvous was in itself an amazing thing it was secondary to how special the friendships made was:)

Duncan Morgan and I have formed a friendship dating back many years, conversing within threads here on the porch to selling, trading to gifting:thumbsup: 7, 8 years ago one called the other as an actual conversation reveals much more about the person.

The conversation revolved around knives of course but overtime it expanded to each others life and the people in it. It was absolutely uncanny the many similarities we had in common and a friendship turned into a brotherhood, me being slightly older, definitely wiser and hands down more Handsome...a given right?:D

The once every few weeks call turned into every couple of weeks and now is pretty consistent to every Saturday here in the U.S. which is every Sunday in New Zedland, and yes New Zedland is not a typo;) for some odd reason even unknown to Duncan the letter "Z" is pronounced Zed??? so of course I said "then why isn't it called New Zedland"? SILENCE, followed by silence:p

Alright, to the point I want to make is what arrived yesterday:eek: THREE AMAZING KNIVES!!! Two 72's clad in unbelievable Stag and and the Queen forum knife from years back, and as Harry would, "made of unobtainium";) and rightly so:thumbsup: Finding 72's in a tough quest for even the hardened collector:) top it off with the forum Barlow clad in Stag by Queen and there would be months of work ahead.

Now look at the earned Patina Duncan put on the 2010 72:eek:, the 2015 72 was pristime until apple time last night:) The Stag Barlow is well...The Stag Barlow!!!
Who in their right mind gifts these stellar and rare knives???

Duncan Morgan is who:thumbsup: man oh man, I am (New Zedland term here) GOBSMACKED by your LEGENDARY generosity!!! other items where in the package as well, some things for Nanc as both Duncan and Sue are amazingly kind and also a replacement New Zealand All Blacks Rugby hat. The one he gifted years ago has now been retired due to extensive use;)

THANK YOU BROTHER!!!

Well Paul , your posting and those pictures are just leaving me trying to find some words and it is difficult . You guys are some of the reasons why I ever joined the Forums and I am certainly happy to know both of you . Enough Butter , now the knives : It is very easy to see that those knives were all made back when there was some Excellent Stag and I am very sure that they are made of Unobtainium .
Carry them in good health my friend . It is a blessing to have a friend like Campbellclanman Campbellclanman Duncan .

Thanks Harry (Love the butter comment);):D I defer to you as the professor of Stag;) and I agree, the Stag on all three are awesome. The rendezvous was so amazing for the people alone and you and Nanc are among the finest. I was so humbled that you and Nanc took the time and effort to pull off the interstate and wind down into town to stop ad visit me at our store:eek: It was truly a highlight having you visit, the conversation and seeing that BEAITIFUL Stag 42 you recently acquired;)

Well, talk about timing, Harry called while I was in the midst of posting my reply:eek: Good People!!! thanks for calling Harry and I got a laugh out of the comment about Duncan;) I will share it with him later when we talk:)
