Frist time poster and a shout out to TTDobbs and all you wielders of ESEE knives.

I ain't scared. You should see my Gerber EDC 4.25" Tanto blade. I plan on using the hell out of this knife. In fact, If I can find a good IWB sheath for it I'll pack it along side my SA XD9 Service model pistol. After all, TX maximum carry length is 4.5" and the ESEE 4 falls right into that categoery. :D

I thought Texas law was 5.5" ????? -Tyler

LOL I guess I better quit packing the Junglas :D

I thought it was 5" but again I dont pay much attention ;)

Ha ha! GD Rambo! I do have that SOGfari 13" machete I like to keep in my go bag most of the time.

Counting down the days till the 4 arrives. I'll try and post some knife porn when I get it.

ACK75, i just received my ESEE-4 this morning and i LOVE it, but i do agree with texastonydobbs that you will need a companion for that 4 :D

Welcome to the forums and enjoy that 4, well when you will get it ;)

Yep, in Texas we can carry blades up to 5.5", and longer when used in activities where you would expect, i.e. fishing/camping/hunting. In spite of the fame of Bowie dying in the Alamo, Bowie knives are specifically prohibited, but they don't actually define what a Bowie knife is??? Double-edged knives are prohibited, so I haven't bought a clip-point ESEE knife, but I think Tony likes his :) .

Some municipalities may have further restrictions, for instance San Antonio prohibits locking folders as I understand it, but I hear that is mainly used as a tool against suspected gang activity or something like that.
(I'm not a lawyer though.)

Welcome from a fellow Texan. I am only about 35 minutes SW of Austin. Unless the law changed recently 5.5 in. was maximum blade length here.
