From Yangdu

Update - I still haven't got the invoice completed with them.

They were concerned about the possibility of this being potentially offensive to someone co I pointed them to this thread. I expect that they will see Yangdu's request and figure out that this is being done to *honor* Bill's memory.

They are supposed to be sending me a Paypal invoice for payment, but I have not yet got a confirmed delivery date, so no mailings to cover the cost of the watches are needed yet.

More as I get it...and thank you to the *good guys*

.

Nasty,
Me and Wendy are in for a watch...where do we send the money...you want a paypal?

Lemme know...wish we could do more...

We'll try to buy some kuk's this week to help with the trip...

Shane

I'll cover a watch as well, and I don't need one of my own. Thanks for doing this, Nasty.

Once again...yes, I'm getting the emails but don't yet have confirmation from them. I will let you know when I can accept your help.

The individual that sent funds via Paypal already (thank you ) will get a bounce of some sort...wrong email address. Please wait to resend as it will go to a different address. Those wishing to contribute by smail mail will be sent my address once the deal is confirmed.

I don't want to handle anyones money unless this deal goes through properly...it'd be a nightmare otherwise.

.

I'm sorry, but we're not going to be able to furnish that many that fast.

I apologize and hope I have left you with enough time to find something else.

Sincerely,

Steve

I have responded asking him how many he can provide in time...and told that we need to send however many he can provide.

I was afraid of this...short notice and all.

Sorry guys...we'll have to see if they will come through with enough.

More when I have it.

.

Hopefully, what they can get might be enough for the Kamis.

Thanks for your work, Nasty.

Thanks Nasty.

Please let us know when to send money, and the best way for YOU to get it - Paypal, check, etc...

Nasty,

Whatever I can do to help.....a watch, a donation or picking up another kuk...... I'll send you an email so you can let me know what's best.

Steve

Back online... catching up on the (bad) news...

Nasty, count me in on any "good guy" project you have going on.

AA - Black and White Avatar? Is that on purpose, or only on my computer?

I like it!

Nasty
I sent you an email. I would like to contribute also. Let me know how you want to handle it.

No, I am in mourning for our lost... The tiger is wearing black.

Stripped the color out in PhotoShop.

Not my idea; Raghorn & Norm started it. I just thought it was appropriate.

I felt like doing SOMETHING... Death has taken a lot from me over the years... Father, Mother, Brother, Friends. Now role models too...

Rusty's passage was such a shock. I started thinking, "Are the khukuris radioactive or something?"

Because if they are, I'm cooked. There's one in my car, one under the bed, one always near me.

It occurs to me that when the jewelery shop changes a battery,
they use a special tool/wrench to remove the back.

Yangdu will know which of these tools will be important/needed
for the staff person assigned as
official watch-case-opener-&-battery-replacer person.

HarborFreight online/catalog lists:
-watch case holders
-replacement o-rings
-opener tools, or wrenchs
-watch-case back-presses to reseal back evenly
-watch-band replacement tools
-other related

some links seem duplicates, but not:

Nasty,
Email sent. Count me in.
Even though I am fairly new here( since January), and don't post as much as most of you guys, I still feel a family closeness here, that's hard to explain.
Because of this, I'll always try to contribute, when possible. I don't go on line every day, so if I'm a little slow on the replies, please understand.
I'm still trying to deal, as I'm sure you all are, with the loss of Uncle Bill and Rusty in such a short period of time.
There's no doubt in my mind that now with Yvsa, Howard, and Munk as the new moderators, this forum is in safe and secure hands for the future.

I'm sorry folks...I have not recieved *any* response from the watch site. :(

All I can say is that I am sorry to have wasted your time and hope that you find some way to help out Yangdu and support Bill's memory.

I really feel bad about this...

.

don't sweat it Nasty.

Several folks have already contacted Yangdu about sending a watch.

AND...

turns out there's no rush. (just talked to Yangdu)

Yangdu is going to fly alone to Nepal. Since she's going through China, Pala can't go with her (he can't get a VISA - they have to stay overnight). Anyway, long story short, Pala is staying behind and will take the watches with him after Yangdu gets back from Nepal.

So maybe we can give it some more time, Nasty.
