Here is a frontier dagger forged from an old black-diamond file. The blade is 5 5/8". Handle is 4 3/8" with oak from a barn that was on the farm where I was raised. The wood is well over 100 years old. It has been antiqued. The sheath is vegetable tanned and covered in rawhide from a deer that I took this year. The inside of the sheath is lined with pillow-ticking. The sheath has been sealed to keep moisture out. The knife was inspired from a knife I saw in a book when I was a kid, that came from Virginia in the late 1700s. The sheath is meant to be worn through the belt.

Flat ground with a convex edge. I heat treated a small piece of the file for testing and it acts like 1095. It cuts well.

$185 shipped within the continental US
Paypal preferred but other methods accepted.

That sure was a nice knife. I like your copys of early frontier style knives. One like this one a little smaller would make a nice patch knife for a hunting bag.

Thanks I really like making frontier knives. I'm making a neck knife now that's a little smaller than this one.

Will it be a dagger type blade. I like the dagger style which you don't see to many in a frontier style.
