This months issue of A/H has a very good article about Frontsite and her knives. Excellent photograohy as well. Just a heads up for those who might not normally buy the magazine.
Congrats and continued success to Frontsite!

John...

I bought a HAK based on that article, total crap. I would never buy a HAK again and am trying to sell the one I own.

Really, it was that bad? I had one I bought in the beginning of the year. I know the company's under new management, but did the quality go down too?

What was wrong with it? I ended up trading mine for a gun light, but I thought it was pretty good & it was the low end utility model.

I got their new version that cost $169, its on their website. A black tiger hawk, the blade wasn't sharp when it arrived. I have to remove the cord because my fingers couldn't fit through it. I must have measured 8 times before I placed my order. Without the paracord it would scratch itself up and I didn't carry it for that reason. Now it just sits in a box. All the production HAKs aren't even made in the USA, which is somewhat important to me since I'm an American (and proud of it). The blade was a lot smaller than expected, the whole thing was a major disappointment for $169 dollars.

they are smaller than i expected too, FWIW, i had a strider one a while back and swapped it, mostly due to the fact i liked my bud nealy amoeba better for edc, but the F&F on mine was great.

I always thought they were good for opening boxes while holding pencil at the same time to fill in delivery notes...

the folowing is from your "POS dealers" section on your blog:

http://www.hideawayknife.com/utilityhak.php - ordered a $79 dollar HAK and got a $149 HAK…no complaint there, other than the fact they were unresponsive

So how much was it, there seems to be about 4 different prices you got it for

"Like I always say, some people will like the HAK knife and some people like getting f--ked up the a--. Make your own decisions accordingly"

While reading I had many of the same concern as some of the above members, please address?...Although frankly I found the above quote about as far as I needed to read:rolleyes:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=512804 Post #4's you mention nothing of the CRKT edge issues either from other posts? contradictions?

as per the blog :

"I don’t talk about my military service much and avoid any and all details regardless of how trivial they may seem. This includes how long I have been in the military, what branch, rank, occupation, and etcetera. Any questions with regards to my military experience will be ignored." being I have never served NOT my place to ask ;)

Sir you mention you cannot get a decent edge on any of your CRKT's (Interesting especially for Military?) hence have to send them OUT to be professionally sharpened. THE very least I can do is to share my old Oil & Stone trick with one whom has served our country, please chime in sir:)....

I can't believe I bothered to read any of that guy's website. Seems like he's one angry guy.

I ordered two HAKs from FrontSight and they came within a week. They're both extremely useful.

He doesnt seem to realise not everyone is him. Calling the maker a "dumb bitch" is excessive.
The HAK was designed for close contact - say a woman who is being held. Funny how the maker is a woman.
Also its highly impractical for everyone to wield a 4 inch blade there are places where it is frowned upon.

The sexism is a bit much...The HAK design is pretty embraced by the military and fighter crowd, many of whom are moving towards smaller blades out of personal preference. As much as some may love bigger blades, at some point you have to leave the ego and your Ka-bar behind and carry something you can use. True, they got the order wrong, the size may be off and he should return it. No reason to demean women in general because you feel you need a bigger blade.

Frontsight is not dumb. She is very intelligent. She also has nothing to do with the company any more.

People should realize that when they post stuff on blogs and forums that they can end up seeming to be a horse's ass. It is my opinion that miamiblades has done exactly that.

maybe he got the few hits he wanted for his "blog" ha ha ha ha
