Frost Cutlery... any good or just junk?

It is a great knife to send to your friends in N. Korea or Iran.

Which is probably very close to where they originally come from.

If you want a big cheap knife, get a Cold Steel Bushman for 20 bucks, or a tramontina machete for 10.

By the by, don't confuse Frost Cutlery with Frosts of Sweden, that sells good mora knives.

Not that I am defending them but how many of you are speaking from personal experience with Frost Cutlery? I have no experience with them myself.

I heard that one Frost knife actually withstood a CHUCK NORRIS roundhouse kick.

Probably an urban legend tho'. May have actually been a Randall with "FROST" etched into the blade.

Edited to add: the video is hilarious.

Did you know that Chuck Norris shaves by repeatedly kicking himself in the face. The only thing strong enough to cut Chuck Norris is Chuck Norris.

There is another knife company known as Frosts, also known as Frosts of Sweden, that makes excellent small Scandinavian fixed blades. Not the same people at all!

Not to be confused with fine artistry in metal, I'm sorry, "surgical steel", coming from "Frost of China"

:D

Yeah, that's the clip - hilarious! What better demonstration of quality could they have done??!!!

I hope for your sake you never have any experience with that crap. They are the shoddiest knives (using the term loosely) that I have ever seen. Well, I guess I have seen worse- and thats saying something.

Bottom of the barrel would be a compliment.

I sure wouldn't want to take a chance on any of their shoddy products and I wouldn't want to receive one as a gift. You would be better off with a box cutter from wally world than anything from Frost Cutlery. If there really is a Mr. Frost, he should be embarrassed to put his name on that stuff.

Actually, Chuck Norris shaves with a Frost Cutlery blade twice a day...for the last 20 years....

But he has a beard?

Exactly.....

Yes, I've seen them firsthand and they are as crappy as everyone says. Made in China Fury knives are equally crappy, as are several United Cutlery knives I've seen. The only thing worse than that gang, knives marked only "Made in Pakistan". I always wondered what happened to recycled cans - they get sent to Pakistan for making lockback knives.

Like I said, buy one at a flea market if you want. But you'll be very sad to own a hundred of them.

not to mention trying to unload a 100 or 200 of them on unsuspecting friends that won't be friends after they buy these from you, if you can get anyone to buy them. I don't go to flea markets, but I can envision 25 or 30 tables full of this stuff, all of the sad 'dealers' thinking they were making a quick-buck killing by just doubling or quadrupling their 'investment'.

They had a booth at the Shot Show, you had to spin the dial and get a knife, not win one, just get one. I was embarassed when my son asked for it and I gave it to him. I hope he loses it. But other than that it's "sweet".

Here's something positive about Frost.

About 11 years ago when I started collecting, a lot of the Frost branded knives were made in Japan.
If you come across one of these older models that appeals to you - you're probably getting a half decent knife. And, these older models often sell for prices similar to the newer junk.
