Hey guys, I just got back from one of Big Al's gun & knife shows this morning in Tarrytown, NY. It was pretty small but I was hoping to pick up a Benchmade Nimravus so I went. I saw a few SOG and CRKT knives but no Benchmade unfortunately. Picked up a Frost knife for exactly $10 with sheath. It's made in China but for $10 I can beat it up without worry.

I also finally got around to taking pics of my 7 year old Leek. It's dirty but it's my EDC and gets the job done. The box the Frost came in is sooo cheezy I didn't even want to take a pic of it. lol

Haha yea, I don't expect the FC to be anything spectacular. I want to start getting into sharpening my own knives and wanted a cheap blade to practice on. It was an impulse buy honestly and I didn't want to go home from the show empty handed. lol

You just mentioned Frost and Kershaw in the same thread title. I want you to go to your room and think about what you've done.....

I'd give $10 for that knife....The Leek that is! lol :p :D

Tarrytown! I haven't been there in a long time. Lots of family in the area, my uncle had a bookstore there and one of his sons had an auto repair shop.

Nice Leek! :D

If you bought the frost to learn on then I think it will serve that purpose well. Don't let someone tell you that what you bought is garbage.

I think some people forget that there are knife enthusiasts in all tax brackets. (not specifically talking about you). If there was a member here who exclusively bought frost cutlery knives because that's what he could afford and enjoy, then who are we to judge?

Very classy response, sir!

It's kind of aggravating to see forum members putting down someone's purchase. It's bad enough to get criticism from people that don't like knives and don't get our hobby, but to get it from people that share the same interests is just asinine.

Gerber copy or not, that Frost looks pretty good for what you paid. It looks a lot better than some "name brand" knives I've bought over the years.

is anything like my kids gerber profile (which it looks to be a copy of) then you did alright, not a bad looking knife. The gerber profile is a pretty good knife for the 20 bucks we spent on it, great ergos, came shave sharp.
if anything the frost sheath looks a bit beefier than the gerber.
ya did okay

Nothing wrong with the Frost for a beater or whatever.... but let's clear things up. The OP started by dissing his own purchase. Just sayin...

No hard feelings, fellas. Like I said, I went there with the hopes of picking up a Nimravus/Nim Cub but didn't see anything worth while. Some guy had really nice looking handmade knives from leaf springs out of cars, but the cheapest one he had was $350. They almost looked to have Damascus blades but when I started talking to him, I realized they weren't. The Frost was an impulse buy and for $10, I really don't think it was a bad buy. I'll practice sharpening it once I make up my mind on how/what I want to sharpen my knives. Pick up a basic stone and start there, or splurge and get something along the lines of a Wicked Edge kit.

Easy fellas , I wasn't dissing the OP.

I was however dissing the fact that Frost has the cheese to copy a very low cost Gerber in the first place. ( for ten bucks more you coulda had the real thing :D )

I totally agree with what crimsontideshooter said and it was quite classy. Snobbery on these forums is as rampant as eggplant in Italy.

Enjoy your new tools.

The Frost actually is a nice looking knife. It is the sheath that screams cheap and cheesy to me.Use the heck out of it and report back. There are a lot of excellent reviews here for very cheap knives.Nice pics!
