Frost Cutlery?

lol!! ^
Frost is a marketing genius!!!
I might blood-splatter the green handle.

Over the past few months, I have bought a couple of Steel Warrior slipjoints. I found them on a display card at a semi-rural hardware store not too far from me. They are not too badly constructed, but not as nicely finished as a Case or Rough Rider, which are about on a par for the most part.

Either one, a trapper and a peanut, is good enough for daily carry. After all, the bar is set pretty low for a knife that mostly has to peel an orange or open a package.

The covers on both are a sickish red jigged bone. If any other colors had been available, I would have picked them, but I mostly wanted to satisfy my curiosity. It was the first time I had ever seen a selection of low-end slipjoints in a retail store. Oddly enough, a couple of weeks later I saw a decent selection of Rough Riders on display in a pawn shop in Hot Springs, SD.

The reason I don't own a lot of Frosts or SMKW Rough Riders is they tend to be just a bit below my standards. But I do occasionally pick one up if something catches my eye.

Frosts are quite plentiful in my area since Frost Cutlery is in Chattanooga TN (East TN) and of course that big knife store that owns Rough Riders is not so far away that I can't just go if I want to. Visited their store in the last week.

i remember these knives were on the shop at home network. the greatest tv salesmen DON WEST (hell yea) was selling them hit one on the table and the thing broke so easy. junk

Haha, yeah, I bought a set of them. It was like 100 knives all together or so. Ended up being about a dollar a piece. Came with a great big sword with a wall mount that I still have hanging in my man cave. Had a few bowie type knives and then a whole lot of folders.
Used them for stocking stuffers for years lol. They were real cheapos.

One thing you have to say about Mr. Frost is he has built a pretty nice business. There isn't a national disaster or mass murder that he won't commemorate on a knife. He doesn't try to rip you off. He just says here are some low end knives for a $1.50 each. Buy a couple hundred of them and go rent a booth at a flea market. What could go wrong?

He also does a good bit of charity , as they often have these cheap fixed blades for about 9$ that you can buy and all of the profits will go to wwp or another organization that takes wounded veterans on hunting and fishing outings. He certainly doesn't lie about his products.
His on air salesman are kind of obvious when all they can talk about is the features in order to make them sound impressive " check out this removable belt-boot-pocket clip, it has a custom adjustable star tension setting, or the custom tooling in the blade...ect ) but they never lie. The funny thing is how highly they speek of some products, but it's only when they have a Kershaw, spyderco's, buck ...ect that they end up pulling one out of their pocket.

My brother bought some off T.V. knife show. Very shoddy. The appearance on tv look standard to large knives but ,in reality they were kid sized

Blackwatch13, I would suggest you buy in person. Since my comment above, I have acquired some Rough Rider knives and generally speaking they are a step above the Frost Cutlery slippies. The Frost stuff has not changed and I won't buy them, not even for a kid.
