I have two frugal man's anvils. Railroad rail.
Today I ran across a lady that had this hunk of railroad rail. She said her friend would cut it for me. Here I present two pieces of heavy rail for your hammering pleasure. Base for both is 6" wide. Both pieces have a clean new sawcut end. Put a wire brush on them to clean up the surface rust. No visible pitting on the rail surface.
#1 has a thermite weld and a rough torch cut end. 9.5"(ish) and weighs 37#. What it lacks in beauty it makes up for in character and extra weight - $85 shipped in the USA - #1 is pictured and still available.
#2 (on the right) has two nice holes for chaining to a log base. This is a nice looking piece. The holes on this one are free! ~10" long and 36# - SOLD and SHIPPED!
