So I couldn't find the dog tag and I was soooo full of engery I thought I would bust.... what do you do? Well, I get out some sandpaper, beadblaster and a Busse Meaner Street, at least that's what I do! Removed the coating and sanded it down to a rough satin finish than blasted her! Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself! :D Got a DC MS with snakeskin micarta now but .... still no dog tag....:grumpy: Oh well...can't win em all! :)

If it's where I think it is... about a 6 hour drive. Not going to happen in this lifetime. My lovely wife finds my knife addiction amusing but I think something like that would push my luck!

BTW... thanks for the compliment! awwww shucks...

Nice job, got to like the DC finish! Is that one of Dwayne's BADASS sheaths?

What did you use to protect the scales from the beadblast medium?

Did you just tape them up?

I have the same question as Schuey. That looks like a great job.

the micarta doesn't need protecting. it's tough, just shoot the steel and don't worry about the scales.

I'm startin to feel inspired, or alittle drunk. I better stay out of the garage till morning. :D

You just voided the warranty and ruined the steel. :thumbdn:

Tell you what, send it to me I'll use it as a butter knife since that is all it's good for now.

Do I have to teach you everything man. You take the wife with you and make a day of it. Take her out for a nice picnic lunch with wine and what not, look for the tag a little. Stick around the area and take her to a nice restaurant for dinner. You just have to work it right.

Ha! thats exactly what I thought when I read his post. Had the sandpaper out and everything...then I passed out.

Solstice, man that turned out great. When I did my BA-E it turned out a lighter grey than the Busse DCBB finish. Yours looks exactly like the Busse DCBB finish. Great job.
