Frustrated and nothing to do?

I think the trick is to bring it down to rough satin finish. I didn't do this with the RW and it turned out similar to what you described. The finish it has now is very close to factory, could be a little smoother but it works for me.

Yep it's Dwayne's. It's one of his Randall designs. I have one just like for my HD, they're very cool. His work is flawless!

Sand medium then glass beads. After sanding with 120, 320 then 600 grit sandpaper.

Should have told me you were firing up the air compressor, I would have brought over an assault shaker to blast. Looks great btw.
