Up for sale is a stunning knife from South African knifemaker Andre Thorburn.
Asking price is $SOLD. Shipping in the USA is $15. International shipping will be $30 USD.
Thorburn's custom knives are absolutely beautiful. This model L22 is smooth as silk both in appearance and performance!
It looks like a gentleman's flipper, but don't be fooled... It's an effective piece of machinery!
Here are the details for this L22:
Item # - 92506
Blade Length - 3.70"
Blade Width - .90"
Blade Thickness - 0.12"
Overall Length - 8.40"
Weight - 4.80 oz.
Blade composition - Satin finished Bohler N690 stainless steel, hardened to 59 Hrc
Handle - Highly polished chatoyant carbon fiber
Locking mechanism - Liner lock
The COA mentions a cordura pouch but I'm including a leatherette/fleece pouch with the knife.
I will include the BladeGallery.Com Certificate of Authenticity which explains all the details on this knife and includes the signature of the BladeGallery President.
Here are some of the detailed notes from the COA:
*South African knife maker Andre Thorburn creates and exceptional folder. The action on this folder is silky smooth with a perfectly centered blade, easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous flipper toggle.
*The L22 features an opening system called a front flipper. This modification on a flipper opening is tremendously easy to use and does not catch when stored in the pocket.
*The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
*The drop point N690 stainless steel blade is meticulously hand-satin finished. The N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow-ground for an easy-to-maintain edge. Jimping on the thumb ramp ensures a secure grip.
*Handle scales are formed from carbon fiber, polished to a luster so that has a chatoyancy similar to that of tiger's eye gemstone. I've never seen carbon fiber like this before.
*Titanium liners have been hand-fileworked and differentially anodized with light blue and purple beveled firework. The liners surround an interior stainless steel back spacer. There is also a thin red liner surrounding the entire handle. A pieced titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry. Exceptional work throughout.
This knife is a work of functional art. The lock-up is superb, detent is strong, action is second to none and the blade centering is perfect.
This is a superb knife for the money.
NO TRADES PLEASE...
Asking price is $SOLD. Shipping in the USA is $15. International shipping will be $30 USD.
