SOLD Thanks

Here's a rare, and super bad knife offered by a highly respected French maker.

This is a LOCKING friction folder. I am not sure if David came up with the locking mechanism or not. But, the locking mechanism is solid and very secure.

This knife is too big and bad looking for me to carry in my office. I have owned many custom knives from some of the best makers and this one is up with the best of them on the fit and finish. The ergonomics are outstanding and the fit and finish is perfect. David has a very good sense for design and can execute.

David Lespect has a large following in France. Take a look at this thread to see the quality of his work. It's 256 pages long...so you can get an idea that this guy is well liked in Europe.

Here's David's website.

I purchased the knife directly from him. He doesn't take orders. This one showed up for sale on his web site in June and I grabbed it. I have not seen any other knives posted since that time in June.

Here's the specs:
--Ironwood scales
--Forged C105 blade
--Titanium liners (grade 5)
--Handle length: just over 4" (level extends out about another 5/8")
--The cutting edge is about 3"

It's in new condition. Never carried. Kept oiled / no spotting, etc. I cut some hair on my arm and it's the sharpest knife I've ever owned...a new level of scarey sharp.

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for your interest in the Lespect knife. The locking mechanism is interesting and as mentioned very solid.

  • It takes a firm push of my thumb on the lever to lock into place.
  • Unlocking the blade from the detents also requires firm pressure (one hand on the handle / one hand pushing firmly down on the top of the blade)

The titanium liners have balls and snap into the detents on each side of the lever when fully opened.

None of the photos below show the blade locked in place. You have to look in the first post to see the blade locked in place.

Thanks,
Dave

PS. I forgot to add in the first post that everything on the knife is rounded. No sharp corners...even the inside of the liners are rounded to take the sharp edge off. Top shelf work.

Hi Zangonli,

Thanks for your interest in this knife. It is still available and is in my safe.

Thanks,

Hi,

I just sold it to another forum member.

It's a great knife from a really top notch maker in Frace....but I'm curious why the sudden interest?

Thanks,
Dave
