I have used this knife on lots of wood but it is still in great shape. There are lots of scratches and scuffs on the (double cut) finish. It can still shave, but roughly. You may want to sharpen it when you get it, but you dont have to
Comes with two sheaths--leather and kydex. The Kydex has a little loop thing you can attach for use on a belt. The leather sheath is quite worn.
